Ripped bag
This is a great product. Love the slightly nutty flavor, and it always turns out light and fluffy.I had a problem with the last de!ivery. The bottom of the bag was torn and rice was spilling out and into the box. I don't know if this was just a detective bag, or was the bag was given rough treatment by Amazon.

I am not a big rice eater because I hate the white rice sold in most stores; it is bland and gluey. The only 2 types I really like are Jasmine and Basmati and THIS brand of Basmati has far exceeded my expectations. It is long grain as expected and does not come all broken up. I found the grains in tact. It has a nice subtle flavor. The way I cook it is to thoroughly rinse the rice to remove the starch, then I add the liquid and bake in the oven. Perfect every time! Fluffy and delicious never sticky or gluey. I use the left over rice for stir fry the next day, perfect! Oh and it makes an absolutely fantastic coconut rice. Highly recommend!

So far Excellent , apart of one time...
Bought this rice a couple of times and always have been super happy with the quality and taste . However the last time I've ordered, the rice came smelling rancid , so its obviously expired and there is no expiring date on the bag ... It also can not be returned . I just ordered one more time , as I love this product and hope this has been a rare mistake , otherwise I have to find another brand ... And they rally have to put an expiring date on their product . Please!?

Barnyard aroma
Sadly, this rice is horrific. When you open the bag, the aroma of fresh hay and a bit of barnyard hits your nostrils. When cooked plain, the smell intensifies and becomes a bit more wet barnyard than beautiful aged basmati. Unfortunately, it is inedible on its own. When seasoned, the rice is a bit more palatable, but continues to emit off smells that taint the flavor. I would strongly suggest buying a smaller bag to see if the rice is up to your liking before supersizing.
