Purchased a cargo ramp for the first time thru Mockins and was totally impressed with the quality of the merchandise, not to mention the ease in installation. There was a spring lock that became defective during the installation process and was further impressed with the customer service departments immediate response in getting me shipped the part. John in the customer service department was most helpful in making sure that I got that part.

I primarily use this cargo carrier to take a 25 gallon wheeled gasoline caddy to the gas station. Once full, the gas caddy weighs over 150 pounds so it would be impossible to load and unload it on a cargo carrier that does not have a ramp. The whole thing took me about an hour to assemble and once I had it all together, it ended up feeling very sturdy so I am confident that it really could carry up to 500 pounds. It is pretty heavy (almost 80 pounds) but I am still able to connect and disconnect it to my trailer hitch by my self. For my use of taking my large gas can to the gas station, I have been pretty happy with this product but if you are planning on using it regularly for transporting a wheel chair or mobility scooter, I might recommend looking into a similar product made out of aluminum. It might cost a hundred bucks more but it will be worth the extra money.

The Mockins ramp was very strong and sturdy, it however was not long enough to reach the ground for my SUV. Ingred from Mockins customer service was very polite and professional. Ingred was knowledgeable and friendly, I would recommend Mockins.

It has potential.Bit flimsy, I left the part that allows the gate to fold up completely out.Only used the insert that goes into the basket and connected it directly to the hitch connection.Less moving parts more sturdy.Might have it welded to the basket.The screw with the pin that holds the gate in place fell out in one side. I should have used tension springs, it didn’t come with any.I’ll have to make my own device. Maybe another rod attached to the corner of the gate and then attach it to the basket at 45 degrees.Otherwise you are asking for it to rotate drop on your cargo or even worse onto another vehicle or drag in the street.The bolts didn’t come with washers like the manual suggests.I need this so I’ll make it work. BUT it’s not a quality build.

Update this gets ZERO stars. I am transporting an electric trike. It does not weigh 500 lbs. But every single weld broke on this on my 1800 mile trip. Some how it did not fall off. But now how do I get the bike back. Do not buy this badly welded rack. Not worth the money.This is perfect for my wife's Lectric Trike. It is one of the largest I could find with a ramp. Plus some of the reviews I read stated support for this is fantastic. A spring lock broke when I tightened it. Sent support an email and they are sending me 4 new spring locks. Great support with no hassle and response the same day. This fits great on my 5th wheel camper! The only gotcha with the 5th wheel you might have to unload before leveling and load it last just before pulling out. For example my driveway drops about 7 inches from the from front of the camper to the back. When the camper is level the back is too high for the ramp to touch the ground. The ramp contacts the ground when not level in my driveway. Still a very good cargo carrier.

Upfront: it’s good to note what Mockins is doing here is challenging. Making hitch equipment affordable at high quality is hard. I recognize that.My use case: wheelchair transportMy experience overall has been underwhelming.- product was delivered missing parts- I connected with customer support — the back and forth and slowness to get the parts i needed was decent but slow- my biggest challenge: despite high attention to detail and close following of instructions, the alignment for the hitch/carrier in the down position is a struggle.- it’s cumbersome and very difficult to insert the cotter pin despite the above (my care to install properly)- this causes me frustration and inability to use the product- I use a rubber mallet to try and adjust the height and positioning to line up the eye holes properly to move the carrier from vertical to the down position and lock it into place.- in some cases I cannot even use it in the down position- for as much as it weighs, it seems to lack integrity structurally, especially the ramp- the wobble (despite the hitch stabilizer) seems too muchAgain, to manufacture things at scale and profitably is hard. I get that. Sharing my honest feedback as I hope the Mockins engineers and ownership will be listening and adjusting as needed to do better for customers
