Beginner Friendly
It is incredibly easy to use and it’s cheap. Besides downloading the driver it is pretty much plug and play. I bought it out of frustration because wacom was so hard to use and very sensitive. Although XP Pen is not paper-like like wacom it’s not a big deal if you’re just using it for note taking or want to try out digital art.It is pretty thin and lightweight so I don’t know how durable it will be. Ideal for students and teachers.

Perfect for those starting out or want something simple
AS A BEGINNER ARTIST THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST DRAWING PAD!! I have not used it in a while due to needing a new laptop but trust it’s pretty worth it!! It’s very light weight, the pencil comes with a multitude or tips to swap out, you have to play with the sensitivity a bit but it’s all good!! And overall it’s solid especially for the price and pretty well made design.

it sure is one of the tablets i've ever used
ignore how greasy my tablet looks omg i think it's just really easy to get dirty but the all black pen is the one that comes with this tablet, but the silver/black one is my deco pro pen.okay so!!!! i'm an xp pen user til the day i die hehe i'm so loyal. i used to use the deco pro mw and small, but then the ports cracked in both of them which made them basically unusable. then in the middle of my sleep deprived delirium, i decided that i'd get a baby xp pen tablet as a temporary replacement. i hopped on amazon, found the star g640, and bought it on a whim. it arrived on the same day bc i'm a ✨ prime user ✨ so i started using it immediately after i woke up.it's very small, and i have it connected to my laptop. it's okay if you wanna draw in bed, but if you're at a table, the tablet's corners are a bit sharp (?) so it might scratch your forearm rubbing against it. it's also extremely light so if you have it laying on your body then it won't put a lot of pressure yay. also the tablet doesn't have buttons at all unlike deco pro, but the pen does have the typical left/right click buttons. speaking of the pen...here is the make or break: the pen is REALLY uncomfortable?? maybe it's bc i've grown so used to the rubber on the deco pro pens, but this pen really reminds me of the wacom intuos pen but significantly cheaper (which i guess is what you'd imagine for a $40 drawing tablet but that doesn't mean i can't be disappointed LOL). and for some reason, the strokes feel slower and less precise? maybe that's my own skill issue but it seriously felt super wrong and i was beginning to get kinda exhausted from drawing. i was contemplating returning the tablet altogether and rushing to get another deco pro, but then i had the idea to try and use my deco pro pen on it and IT WORKED????? 💃💃 so now it actually doesn't physically hurt me to use!!!!!! which is good bc i REALLY didn't wanna get another tablet LMFAOOOO. if it weren't for the pen compatibility, i would honestly have given this either three or even two stars, but i'd say it bumped it back up to a four. which technically is not this product by itself, i just got really lucky i've already used xp pen, and i appreciate the fact that you can cross over the pens between different xp tablets, so it can have the extra star <3tl;dr the tablet is okay, the work space is small but reasonably so. if you aren't a beginner then you'll recognize how awful this pen feels to hold. if you're buying from xp pen then just get a deco pro i'm so serious 😭😭 but this tablet really is as much as it's worth and i'd definitely recommend it for BEGINNER artists, especially kids.

Lightweight, thin, and perfect size! Love the custom adjustments the app allows.
The media could not be loaded. I got this writing pen and tablet to use with my laptop for organic chemistry problems—and honestly, for all kinds of schoolwork. I absolutely love the size. It's perfect: super thin, lightweight, and best of all, it doesn’t need to be charged! The instructions are straightforward, and the customization options through the app are great. I can adjust the screen ratio and assign different shortcuts depending on whether I’m using Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or even a graphic design program (which should help with precision if you want the ratio to be smaller so that your marks are more prominent). Also, for anyone confused about the metal ring that comes with the pen and the extra pen tips (they give you plenty): the ring is shown in the instruction manual and is meant to help you grip and remove the pen tip when it’s time to replace it. Super handy!

Hard to use with a useless button
A useless button on the pen makes it susceptible to parasitic presses. You have to disable it in software. The pad is nice and large enough, but drawing on it while looking at the monitor is difficult in general.

Made a good Birthday Present!
Bought it for a friend. Took time for him to get used to it, but he likes it!

A total mess from start to finish
This has been hands down one of the most frustrating product experiences I’ve had in a long time. The first XP-Pen StarG640 arrived looking like it had been pulled out of someone’s junk drawer. The plastic wrapping was already opened, fingerprints all over it, packaging tossed in the box like an afterthought—it was clearly used and passed off as new. I photographed everything immediately and requested a replacement, which I was told would ship the next day.It didn’t. It showed up late. The second one did arrive properly sealed and packaged, which was refreshing given the state of the first one. But that tiny glimmer of redemption didn’t last long.Despite being advertised as compatible with Mac, this tablet is absolutely NOT compatible with newer MacBook Air models. No proper hookups, no easy workarounds, just a complete disconnect—literally and figuratively. And nowhere in the product description does it clearly state this. You have to dig to find that crucial compatibility detail, which feels intentionally misleading. So now, after all that hassle, I’m stuck returning not one but two drawing tablets—neither of which I can use—and all I’ve gained is a headache and wasted time.False advertising, sloppy quality control, and poor transparency. Total fail.
