The suction works great on my windshield; it's attached to an older metal radar detector. The hinge that allows you to angle what's attached to the suction cup can get loose. This has a loose plastic socket for tightening. I wouldn't leave it attached to the nut because it WILL fall off unless you super glue it or use Loctite. This replaced the radar detector's standard double "press-on" suction cups. Much better option, my radar detect would fall off when the weather changes. Star knocked off for the loose nut/tiny plastic socket design.

my dash cam came with sticky tape to stick to the window. However, I’ve had to replace it multiple times and tired of having to do that. I got this suction cup holder in hopes that it would fit my camera. It does fit my camera. I’ve now ordered a second one for my other dash cam.

It fell off windshield in under a minute, cleaned the suction cup and window and still fell off. My fault for not reading description but this thing is tiny! It will not hold anything heavier then a feather! Suction cup is less then an inch. Just remember you get what you pay for.. should have stuck with the 35 dollar ones..

California prohibits attaching accessories to windshield. I put a self-adhesive pad on top of dash for suction cup mounts. Most mounts intended for windshield put camera too high when mounted on top of dash. This keeps the dashcam lower and definitely not obscuring any of windshield for the driver.The suction assist/release is very easy to use and better than other suction mounts I have used.

The camcorder fit great with it, but it is a very short length to the window so hard for very slanted windshields. But I found an height angle that works still. Then, no matter what I tried, the suction kept undoing itself within 1 hr. Parked or driving.. clean window or not! I got very aggravated and ended up having to use a very thing style microsuction clear sheet onto the suction pad in order to keep on the glass. Otherwise it became dangerous driving (it could fall onto hand or be distracting! ) so other than the weak suction.. it works fine.
