I.R. Horse finally gets some relief!
My horse is I.R. Keeping weight off means a grazing muzzle all the time, special feed, and being on a dry lot at certain times of the year.He is retired and lives at my vet's home/barn in N. Carolina. On occasion he goes lame/sore due to being overweight (navicular and arthritis).I had almost given up until I stumbled across this product. It is amazing. I mean amazing, amazing. You know with supplements sometimes you think they are working when you remove them and conditions change over a long period of time, but still you wonder. Most times you are never really sure if they are doing anything at all.My vet is excellent, old school, but still open minded. I don't think he thought it would work. Well, within one week my horse was dropping weight. He removed the grazing muzzle (first time in a long time) and still he kept losing weight. He was about 150 lbs over when we started. He actually lost so much weight that we stopped the Heiro altogether. When the new grass came in this fall/winter, he started putting on the weight again. Put him back on the Heiro and am now at the maintenance dose. He is 30. He is moving better than he has in 10 years. He has not been this lean in many, many years. The vet was so impressed. He actually told me he wished a lot more clients would use the Heiro. All I know as a horse owner is that this product really works. It has greatly improved the quality of life for my horse and given both myself and the vet some relief from the constant management techniques which didn't help him lose weight. He is still wearing a grazing muzzle due to the new grass coming in, but at least he is out in pasture. Going to try removing the grazing muzzle soon. The vet who made this product actually does what he says and will consult with your vet if you want. Can not recommend enough, it is a lifesaver. You can do the blood tests that he recommends and see the changes also. (we did)

It's working!
Love this! Mentioned to me by my vet. I'm using it for my EMS IR Halfie. His numbers weren't incredibly high but he struggled with lami on and off. He is now sound (he did also have special footwear for 6 weeks) and can graze with a muzzle when time/weather are appropriate. I will keep him on it.

True difference for insulin resistant Cob
I was terrified when my brave friend George the Welsh cob stood in place one morning two years ago, and was clearly in pain when I coaxed him indoors. That I didn't think of laminitis shoes how ignorant I was, but I learned fast from the vet. I made all the feed and forage changes, and tried various 'metabolic' supplements, but he had recurrences over the next few years. I read some mixed reviews about Heiro, and it sounded s little too good to be true, but Heiro has worked beautifully. George has had no bouts since I began giving him Heiro a year ago, his blood insulin profile, hoof x-rays and activity and attitude are great. I reintroduce grazing carefully in the spring, as one does for any horse, and he ultimately grazes at least 6 hours a day (with free choice hay otherwise), with no problems

Great supplement
This supplement is worth its weight in gold. Oh my gosh it smells yummy. My horses go crazy over this. I’m getting the bigger one next.

Not sure if it works
I had trouble getting my horse to eat it in the beginning, but now she eats it with no trouble. The horse is border line insulin resistant so we give it to her to hopefully keep insulin levels down. She has never had laminitis prior to using this product or while being on it. I limited her grass intake and used this product, but didn't see a dramatic drop in weight as other people claim.

This was amazing in getting my insulin resistant horse back on pasture turn out.
This stuff is awesome I live in Florida and have a 26 year old insulin resistant mare. We had to take her off pasture in the fall. There was just too much sugar in the grass on cool early mornings. The first year it got her back on pasture after becoming lame due to sugar in the grass. The next year I started giving it just before mornings got cool and increasing sugar content in early fall mornings. She was able to go out early mornings with cooler air. She didn’t get sore at all. She went out all cool mornings through the fall and winter without showing any soreness or becoming lame. I would recommend this supplement to anyone with an insulin resistant horse! I am a very happy customer and senior horse owner.

It works!
I have an Walkaloosa (appaloosa x missouri foxtrotter) that has been insulin resistant for years. Every spring I struggled with keeping him off grass by using a grazing muzzle, when that would not stay on, stalled. Even if I let him stay out with the other 2 horses on 3 acres, that barely has grass (mostly weeds, never has been planted in grass), & let him stay out overnite, or just during the day & stall at night, here he would be sore on his front feet again. My last resort was Heiro. After just a week, I decided to let him stay out day & night on the 3 acres with the other 2 horses. Never, never an issue again. I didn't think anything else would work, except a dry lot, which my husband did not want to do. So I will feed this to him year round!!!! It absolutely works!!!!!

This was a life saver for Journey
One of our horses was diagnosed with PSSM1. Shortly after diagnosis, and while enduring a long and particularly difficult PSSM episode, he went down with laminitis. Eventually our vet said that if he didn’t improve in the next couple of weeks the best thing would be to put him to sleep. Someone on a PSSM forum recommended Heiro. As soon as he finished the loading dose he turned the corner and from there on improved steadily. To our surprise he has also returned to normal work. Along with other supplemental support the PSSM is under control and he is also able to be out to grass with his buddies all day. 18 months later he is still on Heiro and still in full health. Heiro is the most important supplement for his well being and he will stay on it. Thank you Heiro!
