A great ally for skin conditionsI bought gentian violet for my first aid kit because I heard it’s great for treating various skin conditions. I’ve used it for minor cuts, wounds, and irritations, and it has really helped speed up healing. It has a strong color, but it’s easy to apply and dries quickly. I like that it’s a natural and affordable product, perfect to keep on hand. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quick and effective solution for minor skin issues.

Only thing that would clear up my kiddos mouth thrush. It will stain anything it touches but works better then the medicine the dr gave.

I ordered this product for my 1 month old infant after our pediatrician recommended it for the treatment of thrush.How to administer:This product comes with no application tip. I used a cotton tip applicator (cotton swab) to dip into the medicine and then wiped it along the inside of our infants mouth. Make sure that you coat the entire inside of the mouth - roof of the mouth, tongue, sides of the mouth, gums, etc. We were recommended to use this product once a day for 3 days to cure thrush.The good:This product is very cheap and came quickly. This product was a better alternative for us, since the medication that was previously prescribed (Nystatin oral suspension) to her gave her extreme stomach upset (diarrhea and gas). This product is easy to store at room temperature.The bad:This product can no longer be purchased over the counter, as most pharmacies no longer carry this product. When reading the product insert, it says that this product can not be given orally. Please consult your pediatrician before giving and to make sure that this is the correct product for your infant. Even though the product states to not give orally, we confirmed that we can indeed give this to our infant orally.The really bad:Our infant hated this treatment! Not only did she fuss when we administered this to her, but it stained her mouth completely purple, including her lips (this stain lasted about 24 hours after each treatment). Be prepared, because this gets messy! Make sure your infant is wearing clothes that you don't mind staining, because this will not wash out of clothes, toys or blankets (even after multiple washes).Although this product is unsightly (especially if you take as many photos of your infant as I do!) and messy, it did the trick to curing thrush! I recommend this product for the treatment of thrush in newborns. Please consult your pediatrician and make sure this is the right treatment for your infant before using.Side note:When dealing with thrush, make sure that you are boiling (not steaming) everything that enters the infants mouth. This includes bottle nipples, bottles, any bottle inserts and binkies. Don't forget your breast pump phalanges, too! Please make sure to wash any toys or blankets that touch the infants mouth, as the thrush spores can grow on just about anything. I also used an anti fungal cream (over the counter ringworm cream) on my nipples when I was breastfeeding to help prevent the spread of the thrush spores to baby and to prevent a fungal infection for myself. Some parents go as far as replacing bottle tips and binkies after the thrush has resolved.

Wonderful! We've tried everything on my husband's dry, itchy skin, where previously he has developed cellulitis, prescription creams did a little bit but this worked! Although it made him very purple for a little bit it kept him from scratching and digging in his sleep and allowed the skin to heal.
