This will not work on this substrate, you will only need to use a bottom paint if you are leaving the Kayak in the water for several days in a row.

No it will not protect from sharp objects.

If you mean GRP, it works fine on glass-reinforced plastic of a RIB, for example. I've used it successfully for about 5 years.
