A solid pop-up canopy
I bought this as "project completed" kind of celebratory gift. To herald in the patio being ripped up and redone, we decided to have a barbecue of course. And because we have no awning, the only way to make sure people wouldn't burn to a crisp under the July sun while being out to look at the new patio, we needed SOME sort of canopy. And so the search began. Comparing materials, square footage, easy of assembly, reviews, reviews, reviews....So anyway I got this one and it's great.Pros: It can in fact be popped up with one person [but you'll have an easier time with two or more people, to be sure]. It comes in a wheely bag which is great for rolling it out of your vehicle to wherever you want to set up. It's sturdy and breathable so the wind won't easily foist it. The height is adjustable and if you are a aesthetics kind of person, sometimes the middle height just looks better, but you have that option to change it. The canopy is easy to clean, and the velcro fastens are sewn in there tightly.Cons: The stakes to hold down the tent corners if you need it bend easier than you may expect. In the same vein of many tetris packed items [sleeping bags, roll up mattresses, etc.], it's hard to get it back in the bag as neatly as it was when you first open it [not impossible, but you'll definitely just be cramming the canopy back in at the top no doubt]. And for your aesthetics types again, the grey looks a little plain [at the time of ordering, there were no color alternatives].It has not had to endure any extreme weather patterns, and has only been left up overnight once, during summer. It's pretty nifty though, I've already had some neighbors borrow it for their entertaining and outdoor table events.

CORE makes a good product
We bought this for a street fair setup. Best looking canopy on the street. Really looks nice just like in the picture. Easy to set up. Looks like pretty good quality. Be careful of the wind. No matter what type of canopy you have a strong wind can easily destroy one. We got lucky left it out in a windstorm and it flipped over but didn't break or bend it anywhere. Easy to fold it up and put in the case. The case with rolling wheels is very nice. I'm really glad I bought this canopy. Cannot speak to how waterproof it is but I would think it is adequate looking at the material. It does have plastic hinges which are lot weaker than metal hinges, but I believe they are replaceable if they break. And they shouldn't break unless you abuse it in some way. Core seems like a very good brand and they sell replacement parts for their products. I have been wanting one of their camping tents for a while now and I will probably get one after seeing how good this canopy is.

Great Canopy
I've owned a couple other Pop-Up Canopies before the CORE unit: An original EZ-Up and a cheapo knockoff. The knock off lasted a single weekend and sucked. The EZ-Up was decent and lasted a good summer. It could have lasted longer until someone unfamiliar with the take-down process, bent it up. (Yes, I'm still upset about it) Now I was looking for something BETTER and was willing to pay more. I asked around and was pointed at this CORE Canopy.I received it the day before our family outing to the desert so I had no time to trial erect it. Without any help from me, my family read the instructions erected this thing for the first time in about 20 minutes. No problems what so ever.As it approached noon, I sat under the canopy as the temperature reached >95°F. We had a slight breeze and I noticed that the top vents even functioned (i.e. lifted up and down with the air movement). It shaded well and so far so good.At the end of the day, I helped with the take-down. The oversized buttons worked great and even allowed my 12 year old daughter to release the corners and collapse the legs. In the past, pushing the little springy buttons pinched fingers and broke nails. Not this time. The collapsing frame and joints were beefy enough to fold up without warping. The wheeled carry bag was reinforced and had compression straps at the lift points. It felt robust and I had no concerns that the carry bag was going to tear during loading into the back of my SUV. Admittedly, the whole unit is heavier than others I've had but the wheels worked great so I barely noticed. Truth is that I'd expect better quality to also be a bit heavier. For the record, I paid $150 with free shipping from Prime. This is a Sale price but it is the same as anyone else that is going to buy one now.So here's my bottom line. I love this canopy and would buy it again. Actually, I would even do it again at full price ($180).

Great Canopy but.....
This was our second canopy, previous one was stolen out of the back of my truck. These are pretty easy to put up. Easier with help, especially when windy. My 12yo daughter and I put it up in about 5 minutes. On our second day at the beach, a very blustery day, the stakes pulled loosed while we were in the water and it blew over. One of the sides bent but it was still usable. So my only complaint is the wimpy stakes that held it in failed on a windy day. So, I bought a set of larger, 12inch stakes for our next beach adventure. That should do the trick. This canopy is a great design since the top actually has ventilation in the center and it doesn't hold the heat like our previous canopy did. Overall we are happy with the canopy, but they SERIOUSLY need to beef up those puny stakes. It's easy to assemble and well built with the one pro viso. I would buy it again.
