Very versatile FX and great value for money.
I bought this as a back up for my Hotone Ampero, which is considerably more expensive, and often left in my studio., so I needed something similar to use in the house. It had to have a drum machine and a looper, so there isn’t a lot of choice if you are on a budget. This little unit is almost a match for the Ampero. Some of the factory presets are very usable and the ones that aren’t to your taste are easily edited. It’s not the sturdiest of units, the case being plastic, but it’s tough enough, and as a practice tool at home, it’s ideal. The drum machine has some great sounds, and of course it has a built in looper, which is the easiest I have used, and very instinctive.I have used a wide variety of multi fx, I had a Nux MG 200 which I didn’t think was as good as this, and a Line 6 device which definitely wasn’t, and I have vintage units by KORG which are excellent, but this is far lighter and more compact and the tones are just as good if you put a bit of work into tweaking them. I have also used it with an acoustic guitar and in all honesty prefer it to the Nux Optima Air, which I returned as a complete disappointment. By deleting some of the factory patches and starting from scratch it’s possible to get a very good sound for acoustic guitars, and also an excellent bass simulator. If you are prepared to put an hour into experimenting and doing a bit of editing, you won’t be dissatisfied with this. Although I have not liked all Nux products, this one is a winner, and very good value for money. In my opinion it is worth considering as an alternative for some units that are twice the price.

Great for home studio use
This is a great little unit for rehearsing, recording demos and laying down ideas/writing songs. The FX and amp mods are fine for most purposes. But whilst this is a very good pedal for home studio/bedroom use, it's definitely no good for live work. The switches and pedal are too close together and it's easy to accidentally cut the sound by hitting the foot pedal or by turning the tuner on. Also its too fiddly for live use and there's too much lag to cleanly and easily switch between effects. It's got a good and very accurate tuner and is well built. And it's very easy to use. All in all a very good unit for home use, but it does have its limitations.

Good little unit
Cheap effective and sounds great.. the user interface could do with a bit work to make it a bit smoother to use. But that’s really nitpicking!!! For the price it won’t be beaten!! If you wanted to try a modeller then this won’t require a remortgage

Impressive multi pedal for novice/intermediate players
I've only being playing a few years and until now used a Fender Mustang LT25 modelling amp. The Fender has some nice tones but I wanted a pedal with tones and looper and the Nux works well. I was a bit underwhelmed by some of the factory pre-sets, but found that I could buy extra tones online (from well known online marketplace) that matched the quality of the Fender. I'm looking forward to using the 'Jam' functions to improve my timing and stamina. I can see myself upgrading in a couple of years, but for the money this is a bargain!

Not as good as others are saying
I tried a NUX MG300 a while back, but I didn't have the time to fully check it out.But after looking at a large bunch of YouTube video reviews that were ALL positive I was interested again to give it another go. Luckily there was an Amazon Warehouse deal for around £70, do I snapped it up!But regrettably I shouldn't have bothered.I've no idea what other people are hearing, there's even comparisons that show how close to a JCM 800 it can get, which sounded great. But as much as I tried, all the amps sounded very artificial, more than you would expect.I'm mostly a valve amp guitarist, so maybe I'm more biased than others, plus I don't also crank the gain on my amps, sometimes just a bit over breakup. This is where you'll hear the lack of quality most.Years ago I owned a Marshall Code, which was quite fun for a few days, but I couldn't get rid of the boomyness.I have a Katana too, which is a 1000x better.I tested it with regular headphones which had a bit of extra bass. I also tried my monitoring headphones that don't colour the sound. Headphones in the NUX sound fizzy and awful.Next I tried a plain old 12" transistor combo, although that sounded way better, it still wasn't great. And nowhere near the quality of a Katana. The only thing I didn't test this time was a connection to my PC, it wasn't really why I bought it. If I want to record, I want my best gear, not some inferior artificial moddeling sound. I was more interested in it for quiet isolated practice with headphones, especially with looping and drums. But it just isn't anywhere near as good as others seems to think it is. The default presets are terrible, full of gain and too many wet pedals. It's not until you hear an amp just with a little reverb you notice how bad it is. Why do manufacturers layer so many unnecessarily effects on model presets? Loads of reverb and delay, maybe everyone sounds better that way? It's a great idea, but cheap sounding. You could get a cheap practice amp and a couple of behringer pedals for the same money and it wouldn't sound that bad at all. It's just another beginners toy - shame.

A great item
This is a very good and versatile multi effects pedal, worked really well out of the box, but not so great when first connected to the computer, once firmware had been downloaded and installed all was good, the quicktone software works very well with this pedal and there are a lot of IR's available to use with the quicktone software, the pedal works well with other software as well such as amplitude and Daws. I also have a modeling Amp but use the NUX MG-300 quite a lot. All in all an absolute bargain at 85 Quid.
