API POND & WATERFALL CLEANER Pond Cleaner 2.2-Pound Container

I have used many different things to clear up my pond. My pond was so dark green you could not even tell I had lights in it. I bought it first to clean up my waterfall and it did great so I bought it again to see what would happen if I used it in my pond with my fish. I used it at night and within minutes it started bringing up all the dead leaves and stuff from the bottom of the pond. I couldn't scoop it up fast enough. By the next morning I could start to see that I had fish again. and the pond is about 50% clearer than it was. I am hoping that using it possibly 2-3 more doses clears up the pond completely. I have tried so many different things that I started to lose hope. I even emptied the pond by 75% and added new water. And it just didn't help. This stuff so far has been the best stuff I have found.

We have a beautiful 3 tier waterfall that we had built into a hillside last summer. Because of leaves that we couldn't get out and some grass from mowing around it, the algae really got bad quickly. It was so awful to see those green rocks. I used this product and it worked wonders! Easy to use. As directed, stop the water from flowing and sprinkle a generous amount on the rocks. Let it sit for 30 minutes or so. I power-hosed the rocks to rinse them and the water was extremely dirty. This was a good sign because it meant the algae came off the rocks. Once the water flowed through the system for a few hours, the water was clear. It's so nice to see the clean rocks again.

So I have had tried three different brands of this type of product: this one, the pond guy product and the pond digger product. Overall, this product did work well, but was not as effective as the Pond Digger product. It removed some algae and the rocks remained algae free for a while. Plus this product was the least expensive. But the Pond Digger waterfall scrubber removed more of the algae from the rocks and the rocks remains algae free for longer. That being said the Pond Digger product was much more expensive. The Pond Guy product fell somewhere in between as far as effectiveness.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I was so impressed! We moved into a larger house that already had a large waterfall and ~20yard long river landscaping feature. I didn’t really know what I was doing, so I just turned the pump on in the spring and let it run. Eventually, all the rocks were black-green with algae and the water felt slimy. Did a little research online and went with this product. I totally wish I would have taken before/after photos. I followed the simple instructions and was so impressed with the results. Actually ordering more today to finish off a couple spots that I wasn’t able to get to the first time (ran out of powder).

It's OK. Wouldn't buy again.

I have a koi pond with two waterfalls. During the hot and sunny days of summer, I always seem to get algae build up on them. This stuff cleans it right up. Great product.

This really helps with the algae on our fountain rock. The man made rock still requires scrubbing from time to time but it helps.

Wish It would take all the green stuff away from my waterfall
