My favorite everyday carry
I recently lost my Leatherman and thought I would try and find a different tool, and I was unable to find anything that compared to the quality and functionality of this particular item

Great for EDC
Very nice, easy to carry Leatherman multi-tool. Nice array of tools, particularly the mini tweezers. Seems to be very well designed and constructed.

Too thick with the belt clip
I've been a SAK guy, as was my father before me. The form factor, smooth and red, is a nice thing to feel in your pocket but I was frustrated the with the inability to get just the combo of tools in a I wanted in a "thin" knife . Specifically, lose the corkscrew and give me both scissors and a Phillips head screwdriver. I wish you could custom order from a menu of blades.Enter the T4. Just the right mix of tools for me. Great! The tool is chunky and not so smooth but it is almost as thin as my SAK (which is now at the bottom of a lake, grr). Officially it's 16mm thick vs. 15mm for my SAK, but not really. With the belt clip it's 22mm. That's almost 40% fatter! I'm not a tactical guy with doo dads hanging off my bulletproof vest. I just want something I can shove in my jeans pocket. What would make this knife a viable competitor for a SAK is providing a tool in the box allowing the purchaser to remove the clip. The tool needed is a T6 Torx bit, not a pricey item. The best multi-tool is the one you have with you, so we'll see if I can put up with this chunk in my pocket.

It's a Leatherman!
I think the Leatherman brand must have taken a hit in the recent years. There's so much competition in the pocket knife arena. It's tough to compete on price. In my opinion, that's where the T4 stands out. It has the quality of a Leatherman with the price point of other major competitors. It's very stylish and super sharp. The only con I can say of this knife is what other reviewers point out. The tool selection is not optimal. The awe is simply useless in my opinion. Getting rid of the awe in favor of a full sized philips would be better. The scissors are simply the best! The locking mechanism is perfect. It's an all around great pocket knife for the price.

Big but useful.
I like the regular knife design of this vs my big Leatherman multi-tool. Fits nice in my waist pocket of my cargo shorts. A bit heavy and no pliers but it’s enough for the big jobs I need. I carry a Gerber Dime in another pocket along with other EDC items so if I need pliers I can use those. Not big pliers but it provides what I need in 95% of cases. Very sharp blade. Easy opening tools. All on the outside. No more broken weak finger nails I have. Perfect for me. Use it and my Dime often.

First-rate
I can't fault anything about this product. I know other buyers have complained about its girth, but this is in no way an issue for me. I have carried a Victorinox Tinker on a clip for years. Great knife. The Free T4 is exactly the same length and, yes, a bit wider, but I can still clip it at the back of my jeans pocket and get in and out with my hand with no issue at all. It's hefty, substantial, yes - but who doesn't want that in a knife? It also has a more useful (to me) assortment of tools. I'll never bail on the Tinker or on any of my other multitools (including a number of Leathermans), but for convenient everyday use, the Free T4 is tops.
