Great flask for tea. The open top (non-sippy), glass lining, and vacuum insulation all contribute to enjoying pure aromatics and a good hot tea experience at work. Not a good choice for keeping hot more than about 4 hours. I make a liter in the AM, pour it into a huge, better-insulated flask, and then I carry this around the building, refilling it a few times throughout the day. I have been through 3 of these in two years because the glass lining shatters if you drop it. This one has been going strong for almost a year, but I'm sure I just jinxed that and it will be dropped and broken later today. That's on me. This is a great product if flavor and clean aromatics are your main priority. Disassembles for cleaning. Never leaks.

It was great until it wasn’t.
I have been using this cup for my coffee for three months but this morning when I poured my coffee in, the glass exploded at the bottom of the container. I was standing there and saw it happen, but if I had not seen it explode, I may have tied to drink my coffee and instead got a mouth full of broken glass. This is a dangerous product. Consider yourself warned.

Glass Liner Importance
I am a tea drinker, and the huge majority of thermal bottles or containers have stainless steel insides. For some reason stainless steel alters the taste of tea--makes it more metallic.I make tea the old-fashioned way in a teapot, and make two cups at a time. One goes into my mug, and the other is stored in a thermos. I've been using an 18- or 20-ounce thermos (one each) for this purpose, and the tea doesn't stay at serving temperature more than an hour or so, perhaps because I have only 9 ounces stored inside. And maybe my old thermoses no longer retain heat like they should. In any event I searched quite a while for another glass-lined thermos, and settled on this one by eWater. It's made in China, and holds only 11 ounces, and that's filled to the brim. The lid still fits, though, without displacing any of the liquid because it sits on top of the bottle rather than extending into its insides. After an hour of storing tea, the lid is warm. The sides of the container are cool, so the thermal weakness of the unit is the lid. But it still holds my additional cup of tea at good serving temperature for up to two hours, which is what I was looking for.I've read other reviews saying the bottle leaks. While screwing on the lid, it comes to a sudden stop, and a little additional pressure prevents leaks. It's not that much of an issue for me because it will store tea either on my kitchen counter or in my vehicle's cup holder, and will remain vertical. I'm not sure I would trust it, for example, in a briefcase.

Beautiful functional thermos.
This is beautifully built. I don’t travel with it though. I put steel cut oats in it at night a couple of nights per week and they’re perfectly cooked in the morning. It’s exactly what I needed and I highly recommend it!
