Worked exactly as I hoped!! My car had been making this kind of like squeaking chirping noise for the past couple weeks. I was so stressed that it was something big with an expensive fix. I used the stethoscope to find the proximity of the noise under the hood. It was actually kind of fun going from part to part in the engine until it sounded pretty loud in one spot so I probed around that area….and then found this completely loose battery bracket/support that apparently had fallen off and was just sitting in there. I took it out and no more engine noise! It must’ve been rubbing like a cricket with the engine vibrations!It did exactly what I needed it to do with even better outcome. It’s extremely loud, but you could really tell the difference from one part to another. I hope to not have to use this in the future, but I think that I can at least find the proximity of engine problems so that if/when I do need to go to a mechanic, I can at least have a little bit more information under my belt.I’m sure there are way better quality stethoscopes out there, but this did the trick and didn’t break the bank.

Had a noise coming from the engine but it was hard to determine from where. Placed this on a few different places and easily determine it was the alternator.

Good built and works real good amplifies sound to help pinpoint noise. non intrusive and long enough to reach tight places around engine and pesky belts.

Will be loud

Seems to work good. But arrived missing the part to connect the two metal rods together.

You can hear everything with this thing. Buy it. Cheap for how well it works
