I would like to offer some information that may be helpful
First, as a professional putting green installation contractor, I would like to offer some information that may be helpful. Another reviewer (with good intentions!) incorrectly commented that a "regulation cup is 4 1/4" ID (Inside Diameter)". The cups used at USGA sanctioned tournaments are, in fact, 4 1/4" OUTSIDE diameter. I suspect that the other reviewer was intending to say (correctly!) that the HOLE on a putting green is 4 1/4" in diameter. The way to achieve that diameter is with a cup that is 4 1/4" OUTSIDE diameter. If you refer to my attached sketch, you can see that the inside diameter of the physical cup is not relevant to the resulting HOLE diameter on the green, because the cups are installed below the level of the turf (whether artificial or natural grass). I hope that helps you Mary Ann and others that may be interchanging the diameter of the physical CUP and the diameter of the HOLE on the green! Also, unfortunately, the listing does have conflicting information. At the time of this review, the information next to the price shows "4 2/8" outside diameter, while the detailed information reads "4" outside diameter". The ones that I received were correctly sized at 4 1/4" outside diameter. The reason for my 4 star review is simply because the cups have an overall height of 4", which is insufficient for a professional installation. Most golfing customers prefer the cups to be 6", so that they hold several balls during practice putting. This seller, and others, do offer cups that are 6" in height. We also prefer aluminum cups, but it was nice to try these cups on a field test.
