Did the job perfectly. I recommend you prise apart the existing switch to be replaced as it is otherwise difficult / impossible to remove one pair of the live and neutral wires from it, and also the yellow capacitor. With the switch taken apart you can use a small flat blade screwdriver to release the metal retainers for terminals. For the new switch you can simply insert the wires and capacitor ends to the slots and the retainers will grip - gently move back and forward to make sure they have a good grip as this is the electrical contact so needs to be good.

This replacement unit saved me from having to buy a new Flymo!Easy to remove the contacts from the original unit - just prize the side panel off and ease away the contacts from the spring clips and fit into the replacement switch ( make sure you get the live and neutral wires the right way round ).Using the original capacitor ( spare sold separately ) from the duff switch meant I didn't need to buy replacement for that ( a blown one would usually look burnt ).Job done and £150 ish saved!

When using my flymo it was on constantly switched on so i would have have to leave it running and run to take the plug out to stop it VERY DANGEROUS. I was about to bin it when i found this switch 5 min job and it works saved a lot of money.
