Good stuff!
If you own walking sandals, flip-flops, Birkenstocks etc and take them on holiday, this is great stuff to use when you get home. The bottle is a bit bigger than a roll-on deodorant and when you remove the cap you'll see a strange fuzzy plastic sponge on the top. Wet your sandals, turn the bottle upside down, and then rub the sponge bit on the sandal while pressing down. It takes a bit of practice, but the bottle contains a thick gel, and it is released through the sponge when you push down. Rub it around a bit, you'll see it foam up, rinse it off, and your sandals are clean and smell a lot fresher. A bottle of it lasts ages, and the only issue is that after a while the sponge bit tends to come off. If this happens, keep it in the bottle cap and you can just push the bottle nozzle against your sandals and use the sponge (or a sponge backed scrubber for example) to carry on cleaning your footwear. Great stuff, and it gives your sandals a new lease of life.

BS product because of 1 big flaw
I loved this product at first. Then I noticed my black leather army boots were screaming out for some kiwi boot polish so I thought, hmmm, what to do? I contacted nikwax about my boots looking haggered after wearing them just a few times despite applying this and the nikwax leather conditioner, and this. I was informed that there was little that could be done, they can’t have boot polish on - it ain’t compatible. However all black leather boots I’ve had on have been breathable enough, but they really needed the boot polish over the years to keep them alive. When they get a scuff, a scrape - proper polish who’ll keep them looking good as ya feet pals over the decades. I just don’t think it’s gonna work with this product. So, I stopped using it and started polishing again and it looks better than when using nikwax. I think nikwax need to get real about the practicality of maintaining a proper pair of smooth leather boots over the decades, yes, decades (with proper boot polish, not that tat). Would you rather have a smidge extra breathability with haggard bits which may dry out, crack but at least not keep as long, or would u rather have a pair that are possibly slightly less breathable but always look banging, feel like they are gonna last forever - the tired and tested way going back probably to medieval times.

It cleaned my nubuck boots
The gel did a good job of cleaning my boots, prior to using the waterproofer. The cap that you have to press against the shoe in order to deposit the gel however is rather tricky. I tried pressing rather hard, but nothing was coming out. It's made up of a sort of rubber nobbly circle, with the actual dispensing nipple in the centre, so I used my finger to press the ahem nipple, to get some of the stuff out, then rub the nobbly brush on the shoe. You could use a toothbrush to do the same job I guess.Nipples and nobs. Crikey.I am glad I bought this stuff though. It will def be used often.

Does the job.
It's Nikwax and it works as expected just like most of their products. I trust them to proof all my boots, coats and gear. My only complaint (as many others have mentioned) is that the bit of sponge will come away from the bottle if rubbed too hard. This time I was more gentle, squeezed the bottle harder and rubbed gently.

Simple but ineffective
Tried to revive my leather waterproof boots. Sort of helps clean them but absolutely no difference to the waterproofing
