Great beginner guide to yoga
This is the perfect book to get started with yoga. It's light on theory and focused on practical descriptions of common yoga poses and routines to get anyone started. The author includes alternatives to all poses so that practitioners of any level can find a way to engage and benefit from yoga.

Very cool
This was a Christmas gift to my 20 year old daughter, and it was one of her favorite gifts. The book shows yoga techniques for all age groups and abilities. Traditional yoga and chair techniques, too

Kindle version shows pages too small to read a lot of the captions...
And there's no way to enlarge a page or its content so that you can make it out. I think the content of the book (that I can make out anyway) is good, and I like the encouraging tone of the instructor. But would you please fix this issue on the kindle version? Please?

Yoga vs. Stretching
Had a unique experience with two months of Yoga classes one-on-one with the instructor. Long story. Bottom line is that I never got into the spiritual aspects of Yoga, rather I experience it as a stretching experience. When the class ended I wanted to continue the poses on my own and we chose this book. Excellent!! Between the pictures and the text both the how and way of each pose is detailed. And, alternatives are provided should the "real thing" not work for the reader. Hey, I'm in my late seventies and those effective but less challenging poses are terrific. Many of the Yoga books we reviewed were primarily text. They were like describing a color. Need visuals and this book has them. Highly recommended.

So inclusive!
Happy to see such an inclusive yoga story here. It brings home the message that Yoga IS for everyone. I love it. I got it on my lunch break and don't even want to put it down. Very informative about modifications with written explanation and photos. Seeing how different bodies look in the poses is wonderful instruction for me as a teacher. I did a retreat with Dianne two years ago and she is the most empowering instructor I've ever studied from - so I'm glad she brought her practice to a book. Definitely feel it is a necessary tool for all of us teachers and a good tool for students as well.
