"My Precious"... And one of my most Coveted...๐Series.
These books are exceptional!!! For any paranormal story reader you'll fall in love with them. I have literally bought each one of Christine's books in this series!! Then my husband surprises me one CHRISTmas with a Kindle eReader but I continue to buy the books! I love to retread my fav's. and then my Granddaughter she starts reading and reading and still reads! They are beginning to look pretty rough... So when their house was finished and they move in, she begs me to "take a few and she'll "take real good care of them MaMaw", and then give those back and get some more!!"I am one of those readers that so loves her certain Series' that THEY DO NOT LEAVE MY SIGHT!! Sorry, did that before and NEVER GOT MY BOOKS BACK!!!!!!!! SO NO MORE lending my books. But I did give her my complete series...Love makes you do some crazy things as you'll see in this series if you start it and for those whom have started, well you know what I'm talking about. But " Thank You Amazon!" When I looked into downloading the whole series to my reader I figured it would be out of my budget and I would have to get them at certain dates. BUT NO!! Believe it are not, I was able to download the whole series up to the books I coveted close to my heart, and ALL those only at $0.99 for those I had given to my "Precious"...just a touch of book humor there. LOL. But seriously I got over 20 to 25 books at that unbelieveable price! It may have been a special at that time, but hey I WAS NOT going to not take advantage of it. With the money I saved, I was able to order the Newest books in hard cover that were out and I did not have yet, and one of those is in Back Order. But hey this series is so worth the wait! And that was done with, all the $ I saved at the $.99 price because of my Super AMAZON price find, And with just a little bit more. Well all I can say is...Thank You Christine Feehan for an incredible Series, Thank you Honey for my Kindle and YES my precious, they are your's as soon as MaMaw can get them read. And if you rush me it will only make it longer that you get caught up!!! But I still love ya!โค๐๐๐

Do Not Like the De La Cruz Family
I wasn't a fan of Dark Hunger and not a fan of Dark Secret. The actual story of this book was great. I love the background events and all the characters except the De La Cruz brothers.Rafael put a bad taste in my mouth. I tried to like him and at times I found I did like the character. However, I have also found that the times I disliked him and the things he does to make me dislike him outweighed what he does to like him. He is a typical dominate Carpathian male but worse. In previous books the male does everything he can to get the female to actually love him and usually they do that by trying to meet in the middle somewhere. Rafael is a narcissist and that rubbed me the wrong way.The female lead was great I did really love her and I loved her brother and sister. If it wasn't for them, this book would have been a nightmare to get through. The ending of the book was a good ending I will give it that. It had a phenomenal ending.

This has to be one of my favorite books in the series! I can read it again and again and never get tired of it. Itโs just something about those De La Cruz brothers. I donโt know if itโs their alpha male dominance, the sensual masculinity, the way they are completely taken with their ladies, or the way they give way to their lifemate when they donโt intend to, but they are really the perfect guys. And how about those ladies! I love Colby! She is so innocent, hides her fear and pain behind a lot of bluster, and she loves her siblings enough to give up everything she dreamed of for them. Like all the Dark books, the author brought danger right to our doorstep and then salvation wasnโt far behind. This book is a fantastic read! Whether it takes a weekend or a week this book is certainly worth reading.

As always a very good read. The story was a good puzzle to follow. Many the stories MS Christine writes are great puzzles.

I've at least liked every other Feehan book, not this one
I'm a big fan of Christine Feehan's, so maybe I'm rating this one too low because my expectations were too high - I loathed this book, and had to force myself to reread it to see if I missed something before writing this review.Okay, the main premise of the Carpathian series is that the males are NOT HUMAN, so their predatory nature and their instincts to claim their mates can't really be judged by human standards. This works for me as a fantasy - I like the idea of being overwhelmed, of being irresistible, of being totally out of control - it certainly takes the guilt out of sexual pleasure. Most of the Carpathian males seem to acknowledge that their human lifemates weren't prepared for this, and they try to cushion the shock of blood exchanges, etc., and hope that their lifemates will come to love them in time. This guy is the opposite - he not only refuses to make anything easier for Colby, he seems to deliberately show his worst possible behavior, and then he feels outraged and betrayed that she doesn't immediately adore him.Shortly after their first meeting, he insists that she dance with him or cause a scene - in other words, he would hurt all the friends and neighbors who would try to come to her defense. So much for the centuries of protecting humanity. This guy is a noble hero? There are soldiers, police officers and firefighters putting their lives on the line for others every day, but that doesn't mean they're perfect or excuse every other flaw - and it's not enough to fall in love with.[...] What I couldn't believe or accept was that he was in her mind after this and felt her shame, her feelings that her body betrayed her, her feeling that she had been violated and that he had violated her - and his response to her despair was that he wasn't a filthy rapist, that he had thought it was an act of mutual love. Maybe I'm judging him too harshly, since he was feeling her feelings the whole time, maybe he's just a lot dumber that your average Carpathian? But no, he doesn't feel remorse that he caused her to feel so bad, he doesn't try to comfort her or acknowledge her feelings, he doesn't even try to reassure her that her body's reaction to his was natural and beyond her control, that he's not the playboy she thinks he is and that she's the only woman in his life, that she has a right to feel how she does and that it's his fault - no, he's frantic to make her acknowledge that he's not a rapist. Yes, it's all about him. Gregori showed a lot more class. For me, a romance novel has to end with two people in love, and I couldn't believe that he really loved her. They never laughed together or enjoyed each other's company in any non-sexual way, so when she "realized" that she loved him, I figured it was either Stockholm syndrome or some Carpathian survival instinct - eternity with this be intolerajerk would ble without some hormonal whammy to soften the brain cells.

Knocked into shape
Not my favourite although still a great book. She has been breaking horses since the death of the patriarch of the family as a means to keep the family together. He is from the most wealthy family in the locality and unbeknownst to her is from another race. When he first meets her, sparks fly. He wants her to leave the ranch. (He also realises that she is his soulmate) Her reaction is less than polite. He visits her in her dreams and starts turning her into one of his race. This unfortunately means that when her ranch is attacked by vampires, she is weakened. Can he save her? Will she ever accept and forgive him? A good plot and well written but the hero came off as an arrogant and a bit of a jerk. Saying that I still replaced my tatty hard copy with this copy.

Best Carpathian novel...ever, beats even Gregori's story
I've tracked down and read the whole series since I discovered C Feehan whilst ordering the new JR Ward book. This is definitely the best in the series, with a real Alpha male lead in Rafael, and a heroine not like those seen so far. She resists him almost until the end, which makes a nice change, and normally, I read paperbacks and sell them on for space, but this is definitely a keeper up there with Mikhails and Gregori's stories. The last few were a bit wishy-washy, but this one has made me go out and preorder his brother, Riordan's book (Carpathians Book 0) due out in Nove 2007 from amazon.co.uk.

Just as dark as the others
Awesome tale about one of the more ancient carpathians finding his lifemate, who is of the dragonseeker lineage. She refuses to be dictated to and trys to save her family from being taken away from her and from being divided by the evil vampire. of course there is love story intertwined where she eventually realises she loves the man who bound her to him (carpathian way of marriage) when he nearly has his heart torn out.

Dark secret
Wow what a rollercoaster of emotions. I think this was one of the hardest story to read from some of the others with the way it went. But I also found it emotional by the end myself. It was worth the effort, I enjoyed hearing more of how they were all getting along by what had happened after they destroyed evilI would recommend it.

Just when I think she cant possibly do another amazing read she brings it out of the bag
Totally thrilling and highly sensual and emotional. The Dark series by christine Feehan will have you on the endge of your seat with every read. Despite the sheer number if books in the series the stories are all uniquely individual. Just when I think she cant possibly do another amazing read she brings it out of the bag. No two reads are the same.
