THE BAD REVIEWS ARE FROM PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T WAIT!

Okay, so here's the deal:THESE SEEDS WORK. ALL of them germinated after a while. Any of the bad reviews are from people who waited two weeks, went "eh," and gave up. The one that took the longest was the red alpine strawberry, which just germinated today (3 weeks after starting) but it can take anywhere to about 2 months if you're unlucky. If you're a beginner grower, think about this - the size of the seed controls how large the leaves will be when it begins to grow. Strawberry seeds are TINY and therefore, the seedling (the stage once it pops up from the ground) is TINY, especially compared to larger seeds like pumpkin seedlings. But you DO get a strawberry plant! The other ones came up as well. Even though it's only been about 3 weeks they are doing great.edit: it's now been like a month and a half and they're doing awesomely. I did have to thin them out, but they seem to be doing great in their new little pots. They're still less than a square inch, but they're GROWING!There's only one thing wrong with this kit: these peat cups SUUUUCK. Like seriously, they get mold SO easily when you overwater them (which is easy as a beginner!). It's not the fault of the company, peat cups just suck. Here's my advice: If you can, from the very beginning, get yourself some plastic solo cups and then cut a hole in the bottom. Then just follow the exact same directions using that instead. It works great and my plants are happy. > Actually, I recommend buying just tiny 2-4 inch pots. I feel like they work better; the solo cups are too moist! Maybe I should have drilled more drainage holes. :)Otherwise, just be patient! ALSO, strawberry seeds NEED TO STAY ON THE SURFACE, NOT COVERED WITH DIRT. They require light in order to germinate (start developing baby roots and stems which then becomes a seedling). Also one more thing - they advise to sprinkle half the packet in the dang soil which is like 10 seeds. Then you get like 10 dang seedlings, and you can't have so many seedlings in one pot - they choke each other out for resources, so you have to KILL them. So sad!! I literally recommend planting three of each seed in each pot, and using solo cups/2-4 inch pots to have like a bunch, so that you're not wasting seeds. Then you only have to kill two in each pot! I will admit though it's kind of a waste of soil... The REAL best thing to do is to get a seed starter tray (you can find them on amazon).

AWESOME product, but IMPT: plants take a long time to sprout

I've gotten spouting form every seed varietal except the Golden Berries which I didn't use all the seeds, and I read the other (low-star) reviews, which I think are due to a misprint in the instructions. Essentially, except for the msuk melon, the plants take a really long time to seed. Mine took almost a full month to sprout, and the instruction manual says it should be only 2 weeks. More on my conditions below, but I think based on these reviews, a lot of folks just gave up before the sprouting happened. I planted my seeds in front of North Western facing windows indoors in a mostly cold New England house at the end of March. I watered based on whether the soil seemed moist from the previous day. One alteration I made because of the cold was that I put plastic sandwich baggies over all of the pottings, not just the ones that asked for it in the instructions. I think this helped create a bit of a greenhouse effect. Anyway, I haven't gotten fruits yet, but lots of greenery, and about to transplant these bad boys to bigger containers. Love this product as an awesome foray into gardening. ...And the Edible Flowers kit was a 5 star find as well.

Bought 2 boxes and tried 3 times each, didn’t sprout

I have an indoor greenhouse that I grow peppers cucumbers lettuce tomatoes herbs and random flowers and ornamentals, I’ve had issues growing the plants in this set before but the issue was about the soil, I’ve always had a sprout and even flower blossoms I’ve just had issues get strawberries and such to actually bloom from the flowers. Needless to say I was excited to find this set so I bought 2 of them. Well I’ve gone through both boxes and not one seed has sprouted for me, my garden is definitely laughing at me

Water, sun and patience

Comes with everything you need to plant. Because of mixed reviews I added some crushed egg shell for food under the peat. I put them in a plastic container so I could keep them moist.. Slowly but surely I have sprouts in everything but golden berries.I do wish it came with more instructions on how to grow them after they sprout.

Strawberry seeds germinated

The seeds were missing, i got the box of the item, withought it being boxed for delivery. But amazon was kind enough to refund me and i bought another kit again. The item got here this time and with every seed. They seem to send the box with out it being packaged. I had ordered coffee, so the second time it got packaged with the coffee. I got this just for the strawberries. And as of today 3 have germinated. 2 white alpine strawberries and 1 red alpine strawberry. You have to leave the seed on top of your medium, have it covered with a plastic bag so moisture is strapped and your medium doesn't dry quick. but also having it open not sealed. making sure light is hitting the seed and that the medium is moistened. Having a fan helps so you wont get mold. Pic: (white alpine strawberry still in seed sprouting) (red alipine strawberry sprouted leaves). update all but 1 pucks have stawberry sprouts, and one that has not been able to break its shell. I thinned of 3 and 2 of those plants that came with root i put outside to survive ahahahahah!!!!! 😈😈😈 some of the the strawberries are onto there 2nd true leaf. Update its been 3 months of growth from seed and plants looks really healthy and are pushing out alot of growth. Update its been 4 months sinced sowed. Was told it was Alexandria alpine strawberry, which is the round one in the pic. And the long one was supposed to be pineberries. Which is clearly not it. You market it as pineberry but call it a white alpine strawberry which are 2 completely different genus of strawberry. One is fragaria vesca, and the other is (fragariaxananassa). You cant get pineberries from seed you need a runner from a mom plant since its a hybridized plant it wont be true to seed. But whats sold as pineberry seeds are probably another variety or the same variety as the red alpine strawberries.
