I thought it was going to feel cheap, surprised to find it's well made, chunky, easy to use, waterproof and Accurate...feels like a quality Pinpointer. Battery life will depend on use...It has 3 modes inc vibrate, LCD Screen, good sensitivity detection....why would i want to pay 6-7 times this amount for a named Brand that basically does the same job...I'm on a budget as a beginner detectorist and this is ideal for my needs...I do however intend to get a rechargeable 9v battery which will cut the overall cost of buying batteries..A basic 9v battery is included with this Pinpointer, a velcro pouch holder, And a soft fleece bag to keep it clean and protected.

Easy to use for metal detecting and a nice size for adults and children. Good value for money and fun to use. Noise level good and display.

It's feels good and detects at a good distance from the tip ,don't know if it will last, only time will tell .

Took this pinpointer along with the main metal detector for a day out treasure hunting. It’s small and light, so easy to carry on a belt or in a bag. Used it to narrow down the exact spot after the main detector found something, which made digging much quicker and less messy. The probe picks up coins and small metal bits easily, even in sand and shallow water. Tried all three modes,vibration is handy for quiet places, and the sound mode is loud enough for busy areas. Fully waterproof, so had no worries using it by the river and even dipped it in to check for finds under water. One button operation keeps things simple, and battery lasted the whole day. Very pleased. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Would certainly recommend. Great value for the price.

Mostly this has been a great pinpointer, contrary to what others have said:1. It does beep faster as you get closer to the metal2. You can change between beep with vibration and just vibration3. It is now waterproofSo the issue... As others have also reported, it randomly will decide to just keep beeping as soon as you turn it on. You can still just about use it because it will beep even faster when close to an object, but you loose that first level of detection because usually that first beep tells you that you are near.For the life of me I cannot figure out what causes it. Tried new batteries, removed the circuit board to check for loose wires, tried holding down the power button in case it resets the ground balance, but nothing. And then magically it will just work normally again.It's a shame because now I don't feel I can trust it to be ready when I need it and will be looking for a new one. I would love to recommend it, but as I'm not the only person reporting this issue its clearly a common fault.UPDATE:I just couldn't let it go, my engineer brain wasn't happy.... the issue is a tuning issue and can be remedied it seems. To 'fix' the issue take a small metal object and hold it near the LED before you turn it on (you might need to experiment with the position), it should now turn on and be silent. At that moment in time it is tuned WITH the metal object there and removing the object will give you a pinpointer with very low sensitivity (less than a inch!).If you now turn it off, remove the metal object and turn it back on, it should be back to normal. Failing that you can permanently keep a metal object in that location, ideally slightly adjustable in position.Waterproofing:This is an update (July 2021), the latest model now has fixed the waterproofing issues. Previously the LED was pushed against a hole in the body of the pointer. That hole now has a waterproof resin seal over it. They have also upgraded the rubber seal on the lid.Final words:When it works and stays working, it really does have great sensitivity. The light is so useful that I can use this perfectly well in the dark as my only light source when looking for the find. If you happen to find yourself owning one of these then you will not be disappointed if you know how to keep it operating correctly.July 2021: I now have the latest model. So far it is working perfectly. If it develops the beep issue again i will let you know, but this latest model is upgraded and better than the last one.

At the time of purchase, I was after a mid budget pinpointer for my recent metal detecting hobby. Initially it worked fine, although unlike other pin pointers, it interfered with my minelab metal detector when switched on and vice versa, so had to power off the detector when I used it which I accepted, but annoying. This is noted by other reviews. The split ring connecting the pinpointer to the lanyard is poor quality and soon broke off. Found that it wouldn’t pick up certain types of small finds. After using it in the field for 3 weeks use. Started noticing that it was using 9 volt batteries after one days detecting ( roughly 25 minutes use), with light use and not in contact with water, when it states it has 12 hours battery life usage. Then it stopped altogether. Since it past the 2 week Amazon return policy, used the link to contact the supplier/ manufacturer/ importer and sent 2 emails regarding the issues. Allowed several weeks for them to reply, but without a response. So forget their 12 months binding warranty agreement. Another case of another Chinese company that doesn’t live up to its promise and after care service. Contacted Amazon and explained the situation. Since I followed the procedure to try and resolve the issue with Sunpow but without success, they fully understood my situation and agreed to refund on return of the pinpointer to them and they will take up the matter with Sunpow.So if you’re considering taking up metal detecting, I have followed the advice of fellow experienced detectorists and gone for one of the more established pin pointer's brands from an established retailer Crawford, chosen the Garrett ‘carrot’ AT as used by the vast majority of the members. I have learnt my lesson and should have followed the club members advice. Fortunately did take their advice regarding the metal detector choice and having great results with the Minelab terra elite.So save yourself heartache, frustration and being disappointed. Avoid the Sunpow pinpointer.
