The tray is a two-piece set and functions much like chaffing dishes, but instead of water that gets heated up, you fill the bottom tray with ice. Like chaffing dishes, this set also comes with a lid making it portable and protecting your food even after it's prepared. All pieces are clear so you can see what's inside and the lid will also serve to keep out insects if the venue is outdoors.Conveniently included in this serving tray set are 4 serving tongs and 4 mini forks, all are stainless steel and machine-washable. The tongs are very basic, just bent metal (no spring mechanism), and will probably not last the long haul, but will do the job, until they don't... The serving tray set, though, being acrylic, is machine-washable in the upper shelf (dishwashers can reach temperatures much higher 266°F.), according to the enclosed care card!The only other notable I have is that the lid just sits on the tray and there is nothing to secure it. I do wish they would add a clip of some sort on the sides connecting the lid to the food tray, it would have made it more secure and thus, perfect for transporting.This chilled veggie tray set by the Ayarli store is made of acrylic. Acrylic is a transparent thermoplastic homopolymer known more commonly by the trade name “plexiglass.” It is generally considered one of the clearest plastics on the market and is very scratch resistant. Another advantage of acrylic is that it does not contain or release Bisphenol A (BPA) during hydrolysis (degradation due to material contact with water), so it's a food safe plastic to use. On the downside acrylic is quite brittle and not very impact resistant when compared to other plastics. It also experiences brittle failure, and industry term used to describe how a material behaves under pressure. With brittle failure, the plastic has little flexibility and will crack after minimal bending. When crushed, it often breaks apart in shards (like glass). In addition to the poor impact resistance and the brittle failure, acrylic also has poor heat resistance. With a boiling point of 130°C (266°F), it will not fare well with hot liquids, or for use in the microwave, or even exposure to direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time. Lastly, acrylic does not defend well against attacks from organic solvents, and while it is non-toxic and food safe (approved by the FDA), it's something you may need to consider depending on your intended use.Overall, it is one of the more complete sets of its kind. The inclusion of the utensils is a nice touch (even if they don't last the long haul) and ice bags will eliminate the mess ice can create. Functional and elegant, and if it had a way to secure the lid, it would have been perfect!

The tray itself is very thick and durable. Won't crack easily. It comes with a cooling bag you can freeze to then place under the main tray, keeping your fruit or veggies cold at the party. This is a genius hack to the age-old problem of entertaining folks for long hours without the food losing quality.The functionality of this is 10/10/ I love that it comes with little forks and tongs however, they aren't they greatest quality so we just ended up ordering some higher grade tongs that don't bend as easy.I still give the 5 stars because of how nice the tray is itself. Great size for big parties and even comes with a topper to keep the food protected.

I used this to hold some veggies and fruits in. The compartments were pretty decent size and I like that it came with utensils for grabbing the food items. I used ice in the bottom portion. I love that you can see everything inside which makes all your fruits on display very eye appealing. I truly am happy with this item.

It will keep your cold items chilled while your are entertaining. It comes with five sectioned areas, one of which is round and perfect for holding a dip. There is a good capacity underneath to hold the ice. It comes with four serving forks and four small serving tongues.It also comes with two bags each of which will hold 8 pounds of ice. This will be nice to collect and store ice from your ice-maker before the party so you'll have plenty of ice to keep your charcuterie cold for your party.The price point is reasonable, and this is easy to clean.I recommend this item and look forward to using it for entertaining.

It's a nice serving tray but expensive for the price. Doesn't keep the food cool/warm and the plastic is just. . the regular walled one (not too thin or thick), so not sure why it's expensive.

The product is as described. Works well. I never used the ice bag, it looks much better on the buffet with ice.

I used this snack tray for the holidays and I had multiple comments on how neat it was. It made for a really nice presentation for the food and I do feel like the ice tray helped keep the food cold for longer. I also like that it comes with a lid so I can just pop any left overs in the fridge to eat later. It is made with crystal clear solid acrylic and held up beautifully in the dishwasher. I also love that it came with little metal skewers and tongs. It’s a beautiful, quality set that I would definitely order again.
