I LOVE THIS BOOK!
I’d never heard of Jane Davenport before, but I loved the look of this book and the reviews were good, so I decided to buy it. I’m so glad I did. If, like me, you’re in a bit of a creative rut at the moment or you want to try something different and whimsical - then get this book! Jane has lots of examples of her work and plenty of space for you to colour in her drawings, add quotes, accessories (or anything you like) and make them your own. It’s not all just shiny paper either - her book is filled with kraft paper, watercolour paper, colouring paper, marker paper and collage paper too. This is so you can try out a variety of art supplies on it and she tells you which ones work best for each type of paper. There are even cute stickers at the back. I think the thing I love best about this book is how fun it is. Her drawings aren’t complicated and it’s easy to make them your own even if you’re not so good at drawing the human form! Unlike a lot of art books out there, Jane’s books are about letting go of this preconceived notion that art has to be perfect and I fully support that. It’s about letting go and finding your childlike imagination again! I’d also highly recommend buying her book - Fabulous Figures - if you’re looking for more advice on how to draw figures, heads, legs and arms, as well as clothes. She tells you how to change your drawings to adapt to the many different female body types, which is great. I’m so glad I found her books and have since unpacked all of my art supplies and spent the last two days having the best time with my watercolours!P.S. I’m just really happy with her books - I wasn’t paid to write this review!

I adore this book
I love Jane’s after work and use of colour in this book. I don’t feel like I’m copying an artist just incorporating my own doodles and colour choices and material choices on top of Jane’s fabulous artwork I also find I can skip through and do a few bits on different pages then go back to them at a later date or I have over doodled on a few of her lady’s and spent a few sessions on just one page. Suffering on a daily with chronic pain, fibromyalgia feeling low when a bad day with my depression or feeling sick to stomach with bad anxiety through stress (I’m the only female in our house) not being sexist but I do get ganged up on alot in when disagreements. So I have found this book to be a really useful supportive tool when having a bad day with mental health. Feeling stressed and down or upset. Fatigue so I want to create but don’t have alot of energy. Or taking my mind if a bad day when my pain medication just isn’t working. I presume this was the idea behind this book if it wasn’t it sure is does help. When finished if I will defo purchase the wild and whimsical in this book/artjournal series it is very therapeutic and really helpful when I don’t have it in me that day to create my own work. As the pages I have done so far have all inspired me just can’t physically stop it’s that fun so I’m too tired to do anything next day. But I don’t feel down in dumps about it as I still feel adding to someone else’s work with their permission is exciting and lots of fun

Exquisite books... a must for inspiration when creating art & design
The media could not be loaded.  I bought a range of Jane’s books a few months ago after seeing some of her beautiful work online. I am absolutely delighted with my books, but also the new journey I have began through re-igniting my own creativity. I have Jane thank for that and the fact that her Mermaid Pens are the best thing since sliced bread! The pens are a must for any artist who loves working with inks. A clean and very economical way to use your inks, as an alternative to working from a palette. Oooh & back to the books... well they are just as stunning as the front covers. You’ll find inspiration in every page. This lady is seriously talented & will hopefully give you the inspiration you need, or the kickstart to get that lifelong love for creating art started... you won’t be disappointed. I bought 4 of Jane’s titles & they’re all stunning & very individual...and worth every penny. I can say the same for her art equipment too. I hope you take as much pleasure as I have, in purchasing from this extensive and exquisite collection. Xx

This is such a beautiful idea!
This book is absolutely stunning. The beautiful pictures in it are just the half of it! There are varying types of paper so that you are inspired to try different media and the watercolour paper in this is top quality. There is marker paper, origami paper and varying others. I believe the book is meant to be ripped up and torn apart and scrap booked etc but I'm not brave enough for that yet!Whimsical isn't my usual style so fancied a change and this book very much motivated me to try. Its absolutely wonderful and you can rip the pages out to put in your own folder if you wish. Now I just need to get good at watercolour 😂

Typical Jane - colourful and fun
Great fun, great colour sense. Even if you never try drawing Jane's way, you'll enjoy looking at the pictures! Jane has loads of tips and tricks to help you get great results, and if you love your planners and your journals, you'll find the book really useful. Recommended.

Lovely quality book.
I have now bought 2 more as precents for people. A really lovely book, very inspirational. lots of different papers inside with plenty of space to make the perforated pages your own, you can even add to the pages that are already coloured. This is the first colouring book i have ever got on with - no silly fiddly bits to try to focus on !

Helping hand for budding artists
This book is basically a helping hand from Jane for any budding artists. The artwork is designed to give you the basic structure to start with so you can concentrate on the finer details, I regularly go to this book if I’m feeling creative but I can’t be bothered to draw out something.
