SmatreeHeavy Duty Hard Case Compatible for 18 inch Alienware 18 Area-51/m18 R2/m18 Gaming Laptop, 18 inch Acer Predator Helios 18/Neo 18 Gaming Laptop, for 17 inch Acer Predator Triton 17 X (A800XL)

I recently bought a loaded Alienware m18 R2, and there is not a big selection of good cases for it. This one stood out in my search. While there are a few minor things, I still am going to rate this a 5.First, let's start with the downsides: 1) Even in this case, the laptop barely fits, but it does fit. Personally, I would like a tiny bit of movement so if it were to fall, the laptop can move some, thus absorbing some of the energy. I am very careful, especially with a laptop this expensive, but if it were to fall the wrong way, I could see a corner being damaged. It does have a nice type of padding inside though. 2) The handle straps also seem a bit flimsy, even if they are not actually likely to break. 3) The only other thing is that has a VERY strong chemical odor, and I mean SUPER STRONG, however, like most such things, I expect that will fade relatively quickly. I will say that I know that it just got here directly from the manufacturer, and was probably just made, so no time for it to fade before I got it. You might not experience this as badly if it has been sitting for a while in the warehouse.Now, for the good: The sides are relatively hard, which I like since they should protect the laptop fairly well. Although, one reviewer mentioned that the rigid sides take away from the capacity, I would trade that for securing an expensive laptop any day. Nevertheless, there are some nice storage places inside the laptop side, but mostly for paper, or possibly a tablet. The outer pocket is also made of that relatively hard plastic, and has enough room for a mouse, and the Dell power supply that came with the laptop, but you might have problems fitting an after-market power supply. I usually buy a spare to keep in the case at all times, but a DELL OEM spare is just too much to justify that here. Consequently, I was looking at, and passed on, the aftermarket ones precisely because they were too thick, and big. I am glad I did now. There is also more room than for just a mouse and power supply, but those are the most important items.This is not really about the product itself, but it is manufactured in China. So, although it shipped by Amazon, if it is not already in their warehouse, it can take a while to get to you. It took me 3 1/2 weeks to get it.As far as the other review that mentioned getting it with pills in it, meaning "used", that is not really on the manufacturer, and has little to do with the actual product. That is on Amazon since they got it back, and resold it as "new". That happened to me recently with another product.
