Beware the claim of "Power source: Corded Electric" in the product summary. It is not. The price is in line with a corded electric device, but this one is battery-powered and neither battery nor charger are included.

The media could not be loaded.  Product description clearly states no batteries or charger included. If used properly it works great. I did my 1000 sq ft wet and uncut backyard 3 times on 1 charge. I just got it today so I wanted to see how well it verticut and dethatched. It's been raining all week and this morning. I only used the verticut blades at the 3rd setting on a small portion like 5 passes. I put the detaching reel on and set it to the highest setting. I used the bag to catch the grass and it did, I didn't want to have to rake it and I don't have a mower that bags clippings. I had to empty the catcher 7 or 8 times over the 3 passes I made on the whole yard. I filled a large garbage bag with all the clippings. It took about 45 mins to do the 3 passes on my yard before the battery ran out. The unit did a great job dethatching and catching the all the clippings but since it was so wet i had to make extra passes. I also went both ways back and forth and up and down. I feel if you use this product without over straining it by cutting to low it does fine. Once it dries out up here in the pacific northwest I will try lower settings. I am using 2, 24 v 6 ah lithium ion batteries and the sun joe charger. It takes about 2 hours to charge the batteries.

Bad product, bad customer support

Honestly I was hopeful for this. Thought this would be a simple to use product that worked seamless. Figured I'd give this a full year and maybe my lawn was difficult. Nope. This not only requires you to purchase not one but two batteries to operate.I spend more time charging these batteries more than dethatching. It often overheats after maybe making 2 turns through my small. Not large, small lawn. When it works it's great but unfortunately I can't recommend this to anyone. I deeply regret this purchase.Also they sent me the incorrect bag twice. Not sure if their warehouse has things mislabeled or what but pretty obvious the bag doesn't fit.If your thinking about it do more research and find something that doesn't require two batteries to operate and can last more than 5 minutes dethatching

I have a small lawn and was hoping to not have to deal with an electric cord when I bought this. Unfortunately it is not available to ship to Hawaii with the correct batteries. Fear of battery fires??So I had to use it with my two 2.5 Ah batteries that I had from buying other products.That made the use time very short between charging so it took me a long time to do even my small lawn.The dethatcher worked fine though with either blade so I still think the product is good and the lawn looks so much better now!
