Simple and Robust
I recently stopped going to a commercial gym due to time constraints and other issues. I have a small set up in my house that I now use. Before, I was using a doorway pull up bar, but was looking for something more heavy duty that I could attach my suspension trainer to. The system arrived early and in great condition. The two L-brackets and the center bar are all heavy duty steel with a very nice and thick layer of powdercoating. The wall brackets have 2 holes for the bar to slide through, allowing you to mount the wall brackets individually, thus making installation easier.Installation: I used 2 heat-treated 2x10s on top of a finished wall perpendicular to the mounting holes; one across the top (4 holes) and one across the bottom (two holes). I spanned 2 stud spaces, for a width around 32". In addition, I ran 2 lag screws into the top and bottom 2x10s for extra support. Given the thickness of the wall bracket, the 2x10, and the drywall, 6" lag screws were required (I used 5/16"), which brings me to my next comment about hardware. No, they dont supply much hardware. There are 6 anchors included, but most of us will be mounting to wood. They have no way of knowing your specific installation, thus have no way to ensure they give you the correct hardware; not to mention, including a bunch of extra hardware would drive up the cost, especially since most of it wouldn't get used. After mounting the the wall brackets, the bar slides through the holes in the brackets and is locked down with a bolt on the top of each bracket.Use: I find 32" to be a good width for any style of pull-up/muscle up/leg raise etc. It also allows the bar to stick out of each side of the bracket, giving me a convenient place to store various other gym equipment. When secured properly, there is absolutely no movement or rattling of any kind that is common with lower quality systems. The bar's power coat gives it just enough roughness to be easily gripped. Grip tape would definitely be helpful if you find it necessary. The bar diameter is slight larger that a standard barbell which i really like for 2 reasons; it distributes the load more evenly across the hands, and forces more grip strengthening.I am extremely happy with this system. It's a very simple, easy to install design. Every home gym needs a pull up bar. If you are looking for a very high quality, very reasonably priced pull up system for your home gym, this is it.

Built solid
Hung this guy up and spaced it out so there's about 2" of bar sticking out of each support. I used two 1x4 boards (one 8ft board cut in half for free at Home Depot) to help provide more surface area and added protection to the sheet rock. I rested the supports onto the 1x4 and pre-drilled some 5/16 holes into the wood so the lag screws would slide right through. I then placed the boards on the wall in front of the 2x4 beams behind sheetrock and made sure the pre-drilled holes were centered. Then drilled through those holes into the sheet rock with a 1/4 drill bit. Then I placed the support onto the 1x4 and slid one of the lag screws through the top holes, held the support up with one arm while I drilled the lag screw in with the other, leaving the screw slightly loose so as to allow the support to move freely. Then I lined up the bottom holes with the pre drilled hole in wall and tightened. Repeated with the other side.I used six 5" 5/16 lag screws, lock washers and washers. This was actually pretty easy to do, which surprised me. However, would be much easier with another person. Also, an impact drill is extremely handy when it comes to actually screwing in the lag screws.I did some of the Kipping pullups, which I don't normally do, just to test how solid this thing was. Very solid! Also, since I made sure my pre-drilled wall holes were exactly the same distance from ceiling, and checked the sides with a level, I had zero issue sliding the bar through the holes in the supports when the time came. This pullup bar is much bigger in person, so I assure you it is plenty of distance from the wall and wide enough to get done what you need to do. Also, it works very well with the Primal 7 straps as you can see in the photos.Since it sticks out so far from wall, and extremely solid, I am currently considering mounting a 150# heavy bag on it for some kickboxing when not otherwise being used. If I do I will come back and post how it holds up.

Pretty f'ing good
Installed this bar in my garage. To start off I followed the instructions of the most helpful review for this item. And i am no pro on installing things. Took me about 2 days to do so.The bar itself is good quality. The welding is good. Only thing I don't like is the material of it. It's not a glossy bar. It feels really metallic and rough on the hands. You will need grip tape to ease the grip on it. The box came with 3 metal parts (bar and 2 supports, hex screws, washers, anchors, and caps for all the ends of the large pieces)Bought separately:• 6x, 3/6 hex bolts, 5 inch• 2 pine wood 1x4• box of wood screwsThe hardest thing for me was making sure I placed the pine wood on top of the studs. As well as making sure that the bar support lined up straight and even with each other.I did NOT use the anchors that come in the box, so I'm hoping it stays up there without any issues. So far it seems very sturdy. I am 200+ lbs and I have jumped to grab it, and some pull ups and there seems to be no issues.

Simple and Strong
This was the perfect addition to my garage gym set up. It is strong enough for weighted pull-ups and I also like attaching my TRX to the bar for suspension training. Install was extremely simple if you have an impact driver. Just located the studs in the wall and drill your pilot holes. The lag bolts secured the mounts extremely well. I do believe this installation would have been rather difficult without the use of my air impact driver.

Fantastic product but install can become difficult
This arrived promptly and in good condition. Box was a bit beat up but the product itself was in excellent condition, it also came with hardware for installation but not appropriate for installing on masonry. I installed it on a cinderblock wall, which was an ordeal and required a good amount of research to finally properly install. I already had a hammer drill available but needed to buy hardware and a 3/8” Masonry drill bit. Initially thought bolt anchors or sleeves would be sufficient to install but they wouldn’t catch. Ended up using 3/8” tapcon screws to attach some 2x4s to the wall and then 2.5” lag screws to attach the pull-up bar to the 2x4s. After a few test reps I noticed one of the tapcon screws wasn’t as secure as I initially thought and had to add some copper wire to the drill hole to help the tapcon catch. That’s not a fault of the seller or the product! But it would be nice if it at least came with instructions for installing on various materials. Now everything golden. The pull-up bar itself is extremely solid and well made. I’m 6’2 220lbs and there’s no issue for me at all. Pull-ups are obviously fine, so are toes-to-bar, and I’ve even added gymnast straps/rings. I don’t have the ceiling height to try a muscle up but I’m 100% confident that if this is properly secured to the wall it will hold whatever you wish to do; and it will not shake or rattle whatsoever. Highly recommend this product
