Product Works, Great Customer Service
I rarely give 5 stars because that means nothing can be improved. But this one earned it. I am not a paid person nor do I get any benefits from this review. I ordered this product for my large bedroom during the night. The noise is essentially not audible. The moisture level was great. You can control what percent of humidity you wish to have. It was what I needed. It am giving it a 5 star for the product support. The cleaning is fairly straight forward. I was wiping it down as instructed and piece popped off and I could not figure out how to put it back. The instructions were all online as expected, and I could not find anything that made sense. This was frustrating. I called the company directly and got useful and accurate information about my problem, and the company sent me out the piece I needed (after providing some photos with the information they needed). So yes, there was an issue and I had to wait for the part to come in, but nothing is perfect and this problem was handled wonderfully. Jane (on the phone call) and Carol (on the email conversations) were both professional and personable, and they gave me full help to correct the issue.

GREAT HUMIDIFIER
Gotta say I really love this humidifier. I bought one a while back for my other residence and decided to get one more for another place I live. I just set it to an automatic level of humidity and let it do its thing. The handle on the reservoir makes it very easy to refill. Depending on your level of humidity and where you live, you might only have to refill it about once every 4-5 days. The noise level is practically non-existent and you can shut off all lights if that's something that bothers you at night. Just a great humidifier for a bedroom that's been very reliable.

A good investment
It was larger than expected, but this humidifier is fantastic. I love that the water carrier has a handle to make carrying easier. Knowing the exact humidity of the room is great because I wasn’t aware that I needed to keep it under a certain level to prevent mold and spiders! Previous humidifiers I had didn’t say the humidity level and I’m sure I was going above it so this thing is amazing. It can run for days without needing to be refilled. I especially love that there is two inserts for essential oils and I use tea tree to deter the spiders from the moisture lol! Love this thing. Definitely worth it

Humidity control is a plus, but unfortunately, probably should use distilled water.
Although I am not really an expert, I do have some background in water chemistry that I am applying to this review - so please excuse its length! For decades we have used a traditional vaporizer. This works by passing an electric current between 2 electrodes inside the “cup” submerged within the vaporizer reservoir. This produces steam that emerges as hot mist. One disadvantage of this approach is that it can burn small children and pets who get too close. Another is that if the water is “hard” (contains too much calcium and/or magnesium), then calcium and/or magnesium carbonate will precipitate out forming scale. This eventually coats the electrodes, preventing them from transferring the electric current. Also, the electrodes eventually corrode. On the other hand, if the water is too pure, electric current will not pass through it. In this case a little table salt (sodium chloride) can be added – the more you add, the more vigorously steam is produced. Overall, these vaporizers work well, they just “burn out” every few years. Also, there is little control – they run until the water drops below the level of the electrodes. Since almost all the impurities stay behind as the water evaporates, the scaling potential and salt content increase over the hours of each run.In order to reduce the potential for burns and to gain better control over the room humidity, we looked at this Dreo HM713 humidifier with its options for both cool and warm (not hot) mist and a humidity control option. It is an ultrasonic model, breaking the water into very fine droplets that are emitted, rather than to steam. That means most of the impurities are emitted in the mist. Then as the water vapor evaporates from the tiny droplets, the solids (such as the calcium and magnesium carbonates and sodium chloride). are left as tiny airborne particles, or “white dust”.Some negative reviews complained of a fishy odor. Such odors generally come from organic compounds called amines. The precursors for these compounds may be in the water supply, but I suspect they may have been added unintentionally by ion exchange compounds present in some home water purifiers. Another common complaint was the fine white powder, which is likely the scale compounds and/or salt mentioned above. As I suspected, we had no trouble with odors (fairly good quality public water supply). However, I was surprised and somewhat alarmed over how much fine white powder was generated. The likely carbonates and salts that produce it are safe to eat or drink, but I am not sure about inhaling them deep into your lungs. I was also concerned that they would quickly overpower the air purifier that we bought recently because of the Canadian and more local forest fires. To avoid the particles, you can use distilled (or reverse osmosis) water (not bottled or filtered or softened water – it must be demineralized). So, our solution (at least for now) is to use an old-fashioned vaporizer during the day, when we can manually turn it off if the room moisture level gets too high (greater than 55-60% relative humidity), and use the Dreo filled with distilled water at night set at a lower moisture level (45%). I do wish we could turn the built-in night light off without also turning off the humidity control. I am also not crazy about buying distilled water in single-use gallon plastic jugs, although we do get 2-3 nights out of a single gallon for our small room. Both humidifiers should be cleaned frequently and thoroughly to avoid microbial growth. One problem with the old vaporizer is that it is difficult to get all the water out and your hand in to wipe it clean. In that regard, the Dreo is much better.

Great humidifier, efficient and very easy to fill.
This is a great humidifier. We live in Colorado, which is very dry year round, so we've owned several humidifiers. They've all worked well, but filling them is an absolute pain. This humidifier is easy to fill, it has a removable panel on the top, you just lift it off and use a jug to fill it. Or you can lift the entire tank off and fill it in the sink. I prefer to use a jug because I have back issues. The humidifier provides warm or cool vapor, and both are very effective in raising the humidity of our kitchen/dining room/lounge great room by 10%, which is pretty amazing considering how dry it is here. It's also a very attractive item, not like the bulky white plastic of our other humidifiers.Cleaning is easy. Just remove the tank and vapor tower, then rinse them. I use the provided cleaning brush to clean the base, empty it and rinse. Reassemble, fill, and wipe the exterior with a soft cloth. Ten minutes at the max, if I was interrupted halfway through. The app is very handy to set schedules and provide cleaning reminders. We also have the mineral filter, and the app does remind when to change it. Just remember to reset the reminders! It's a push of a button, but easy to forget.Speaking of the mineral filter: I ran the humidifier without a filter, and it produced a fine white mineral coating on the humidifier and the counter top. Not a huge deal, easy to wipe up, but we have very hard water so it was quite a lot. With the filter there's no white coating. So, for people in hard water areas the filters might be a good idea.Seriously, I love this device.
