Charger compatible with Ember Smart Mug 2 (Black)

I love my Ember mug. However, the coaster charging base needs to be kept dry or the little metal pins rust and fail. I did not know that and I let my original Ember coaster charging base get wet enough to rust out. That took over a year of nearly daily use, with no particular care.To replace the coaster charging base, I choose this product to replace it. I figured if it's going to wear out, why pay top dollar. It costs 25% less.We'll you get what you pay for. Even though I meticulously cared for this charging coaster by cleaning the bottom of my Ember mug carefully before placing it to charge, it wore out in a week.I got Amazon to send a replacement, but again, despite my care to dry my mug thoroughly each time I charged it, it died again in about a week.Ember's original coaster charging base has the same flaw, but seems somewhat more durable.

I bought this in October 24 and it lasted 6 months before it broke :( When it worked it was great but generally too fragile of a design. I would look to other options especially since the price for this item is very similar to the replacements from Ember.

Ordered on May 10th as a replacement for the original charging plate. Can't pinpoint exact date, but one of the pins has sunk into the replacement plate and it will no longer charge. The original one did the same. Last date to return this replacement was June 10th. I was recovering from spinal surgery and could not meet the deadline to get a replacement for the replacement. I really like the way the mug keeps my coffee hot, but the charging plate technology is fatally flawed. Do not waste your money.

Ember makes a nice, heated mug, but the charging coasters are defective along with the app. This is my third charging coaster, my first one stopped working within 9 months, the replacement from Ember under warranty failed in less time than the original. I refuse to purchase another one that I know will fail, at this point it seems intentional by Ember for the bottom line.This product is exactly what I was looking for. My Ember mug is back to working since starting to use this new charger. I will have to wait and see how this functions long term, but it is off to a good start and Ember has set the bar low.

The coaster charger done the same thing as the first one we replaced. One of the charging pins dropped down and won’t make contact with the cup to recharge it. We have only had the new one for 1 month this is poor quality

My Ember 2 mug was no longer charging because the pins on my charging coaster became recessed (pushed down) and no longer provided a good connection to my mug for charging. I ordered this replacement and it works just as good as the original Ember coaster. The coaster is pretty generic and does not look as nice as the original coaster but heck....it works. Hopefully, this coaster does not develop the same pin problem as the original Ember coaster. See pics for picture of this Safe amp coaster for pins and look with an Ember mug.Since my Ember mug is still under warranty (12 months), I contacted Ember and within a week, they sent me a new Ember charging coaster (that looks much better than the Safe amp coaster). So now I have two charging coasters but that is ok. Good to have a backup.

I found I was exceeding the battery capacity on my Ember mug. Bought one of these for the desk and put the other near the coffee pot. Now I can keep the battery in the Ember Mug charged all the time.
