Extremely useful!
Very useful for permanent fittings. I have one holding up my soft boxes to the side of my studio. I used wood screws instead of the provided screws and they fitted perfectly. Simply unscrew the top, screw in the base and then reattach the top unit (no instructions so work it out eventually).

Check stem length allows rotation
A quality item, but was too short a stem for my camcorder to rotate, without hitting the wall.
