Hailo3555-101 Compact-Box Stainless Steel Bin, 15L

Great value for money and very well made plus easy to install. I never knew opening the kitchen cupboard could be so enjoyable until we bought this great addition. Suits any cupboard left or right and is possibly the best kitchen bin I've ever owned.

This was a replacement for the exact same bin I’ve had for years. Nice compact bin and quick delivery.Although the measurements are misleading. The height doesn’t need to be as high as stated as the lid doesn’t lift up, the bin just slides out and the lid stays in position.If I hadn’t already had one this would have stopped me purchasing it because i would have thought it wouldn’t fit in my island unit.

This is a compact and good looking behind door waste bin, with a clean stainless steel and black plastic finish, a capacious inner grey plastic bin with metal handle to lift it out, and a tilting black plastic lid. When new everything works well, although the lower face of the lid is difficult to clean without lifting out the bin assembly (fortunately an easy thing to do).However, this is now my third such bin, due to breakages at all the same weak points. The worst of which is the plastic track on the underside of the bin, which is pulled by a lug fixed to the door. The edge of the track is made of thin plastic, and inevitably weakens with time and then breaks. It can be repaired by sticking over another piece of plastic, but this is hardly ideal. The other weak point is the plastic clip on the bin lid, that connect to a metal arm, which snaps or distorts after a more extended period of use, and cannot be effectively repaired.As the price is good and the alternatives require more holes drilling in my kitchen units, I guess that I'll keep ordering more of these bins every 5 years or so!

I have had many cupboard bins over the years and was all set to order my normal more expensive brand, however I saw the product rating for this product and the price and thought I'd give it a go. I'm so pleased with the bin. I'm not someone who usually writes reviews but this bin was well priced, really easy to install (I'm a female with limited DIY experience) and it was relatively painless. The only negative comment I would have is that the plastic lid is a little cheap, sturdy enough but it makes a cheap scratchy noisy when you close the cupboard and the bin lid flips over on to the bin. It's a minor thing really. The plastic bin that sits inside the stainless steel body is of good quality. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone. Great little product.

Great, easy to fit.

I have had a Hailo bin for 20 years but the plastic support round the bin had snapped. I bought this to replace the bin and it fits great, very relieved.I didn't try to fit the whole unit but used what I had fitted already.The only down side was when I opened the box it smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke, but I expect it to disappear. I had purchased one that was classed as "box damaged" so it was cheaper, and as it was supplied buy Amazon they delivered to the Isle of Man, whereas none of the other suppliers would. Cheers.

I had a Hailo bin fitted with my kitchen 23 years ago and thought I would order the same bin to replace it when I had my other kitchen appliances changed. The old bin lid had broken off years ago. The new bin arrived promptly and was just a little taller with different fittings (so much for using the same bracket and not needing to make new holes), but that was no problem. It was simple to fit, but the lid, despite numerous attempts to adjust it, is very noisy when the cupboard door is closed. It also, as has been pointed out by many others, seems flimsy and I feel it is likely to go the same way as the original one. Nothing wrong with the bin itself though - it looks very smart in stainless steel. It seems a shame to hide it away in a cupboard!

This is my first FAIL purchase from Amazon during lockdown.My husband fitted it correctly two days ago.1. The plastic lid is cheap and the way it clips on to the chrome bar means it comes off all the time.2. The bin itself keeps jumping off the door attachment. I've left the bin sitting inside the cupboard now as I can't be bothered continually trying to refit it.What a silly waste of money. I'm angry with me for purchasing it. So, a trip to a shop now they're open to buy one I can see before purchase.
