Q: How much weight could this take?

The bag is very sturdy and the straps seem strong, the bag is quite large and plenty of outside pockets too, it's really comfortable with all my work stuff in, I suppose you could easily carry 20kg maybe a bit more as long as you sread the weight out evenly. Hope this helps.

The USA flag was included on this bag. It is a patch with a Velcro backing and therefore can be easily removed and replaced.

Q: Would this suit the on board size for plane ?

Well that’s a question for the air carrier you are using as it’s also it’s weight and how much you put into it at fully loaded it’s 45 litres and maybe too large. But as it’s able to be strapped down and reduced in size so it’s similar to the carry on size that I have used. But as you ask I thought I’d give some feedback. It’s perhaps better for overhead luggage than the hold as the numerous straps will catch up and get jammed up with luggage and runners etc on conveyor belts. If used best for carrying on board with you. But the airline will let you know if you refer to the dimensions shown by this manufacturer in the advertisement. I have found it great for packing clothes and strapping down to reduce size and it’s belt keeps the weight on the hips if adjusted or a carry handle is on top.

Hi The chest straps on my rucksack can be tightened, but it is tricky as the bits you need to pull are actually on the inside, closest to your body, so hard to get to while wearing it. I adjusted the straps to "almost "the size I needed before putting it on and left it at that, though not ideal, it's ok for me. Hopefully your straps are the same as on mine, adjustable, just a pain to do!
