I drink several cups of herbal tea per day and am always on the lookout for new options.I don't know much about yerba mate, but here is a key point from Medical News Today that may be a consideration for some...===============Yerba maté tea contains an average of 78 milligrams of caffeine per 150 milliliter cup. This makes its caffeine content similar to coffee, and means that it may offer boosts in mood and energy that are similar to the benefits of coffee.===============+ Stainless Steel Yerba Mate Gourd is a great plus.I was so surprised that even if I pour in boiling water I can still hold the gourd in my hand without feeling too much warmth.+ Stainless Steel Bombilla is a nice addition.I honestly had never heard of a 'bombilla' before but found it fun to use. At the same time if your water is too hot this stainless steel bombilla/straw seems to enhance the heat, making too hot water too hot to drink. If you check out my picture there are some very fine pieces of yerba mate floating in my water and I was concerned I would get a bunch of 'grit' when sipping and thus choke. Nope. The bombilla worked great!+ A one-pound bag of yerba mate. Opening the bag looked nice and clean leaves and the bag was filled to the brim.+ Also, not all loose leaf teas are in resealable bags that don't actually reseal. This one reseals well. Thank you! I can easily grab what I want and reseal with confidence and put it back on the shelf.NOTE: I was going to ding this overall product for the cost of $30 at the start of this review. But...it is right in the middle of the road of where the pricing is for like items. A pound of yerba mate averages around $15 and the same for a stanless steel gourd also runs on average around $15. So, no issues with the pricing.OVERALL:Yerba mate -- to me -- doesn't have a distinct flavor like chamomile or peppermint, but it has that light black tea flavor.
