The clip is well secure and it charges a descent mk 2 without any issues. Previous proprietary connect was no where near as secure as this clip. Wire is of good length. No complaints and fairly durable.

got this for my descent mk3i. as my primary diving computer it's critical for me that i can charge it when i need to so having spare cables is important.as of this writing this is $10 or ~40% cheaper than the stock garmin charging clip. it is compatible with all the current descents from G1 to mk3. so it seems good value for money. the trade off is that the plastic used is definitely of lower quality than the stock charger (which has rubberized plastic), but this does not affect its ability to charge my watch reliably. unlike the garmin fenix charging cables which can be loose due to poor/imprecise manufacturing by 3rd party cable makers, the clip really eliminates the biggest failure point and makes even imprecisely manufactured cables to work reliably.unlike the latest descent chargers (which use usb C), it has a usb-A plug. i don't think this makes a difference in charging times, and would rather slow-charge the irreplaceable batteries in my expensive smart watch.

Both my wife and I have Garmin Descent 3 dive computers that we wear as our every-day watch/fitness trackers. They of course come with a charging cord, but it uses a USB-C end. This aftermarket charger adds the convenience of having a more universal standard USB end. This will allow for charging in more places which is critical when traveling to remote areas for diving and you are relying on the dive computer to dive safely.My first impression of this charging adapter is that it is built pretty comparably to the OEM cord. It was delivered in typical zip lock bag type packaging. The cable itself is similar in diameter and flexibility and overall length of about 1-meter to the OEM cord. The spring clamp on the end that attaches to the dive computer has similar tension to the OEM cord and I had no issues with it attaching to and charging my Descent mk3i.The only reason I deducted a star is that there is no strain relief at either end of the cable. From my experience of all manner of cable assemblies, lack f strain relief is usually the weak point of USB cables and the difference between a better longer lasting cable and a shorter lived product.In summary, this charging cable is a reasonable value and will meet the basic needs to charge your device, but it's lifespan may be limited due to the lack of strain relief.

I recently received and started using the Kissmart Charger with both my Descent Mk1 and Mk3i. It charges both devices effectively and I haven't encountered any issues with data syncing with Garmin Express on my MacBook. While I appreciate its performance, I do wish it had a USB-C connector for added convenience instead of having to use a USB-A to USB-C dongle. That said, it functions as well as the OEM version at less cost. Overall, this charger meets my needs and serves as a reliable charging and data cable for my Garmin Descent series watches.

It will not charge the watch. It will not send or receive data from my MK2s. It's a complete waste of time and money. Unfortunately I can't give it less than one star.
