This product keeps my ankles free from bedsores. It’s such a simple idea, but very clever.

I bought these to stave off pressure sores that were forming over my exterior ankle bones which were very painful. These are appearing because I am a lifelong side sleeper with circulatory problems due to COPD & Arachnoiditis (see: arachnoiditis.co.uk). This latter spinal disease causes mobility problems & pain especially when bending down. The placement the devices & the placement & tightening of the straps was difficult, to say the least. It took a few nights to find the right placement too. However, the placement & strap problems could easily be solved by the straps being replaced by wider Velcro fastenings actually sewn onto the body of the cushions. Having said that they really do work, preventing the pain on the left ankle & the subsequent return to it 's normal state & sensation. A bit too late for the right, but that's my timing. Takes some adjustment to your sleeping position, however apart from these small gripes they do work very well & are comfortable now.

I have tried these in bed but they move up my leg, do not keep my heel raised and have caused pain in my calf

I really had hoped these would help my mother as she has bed sores on her heels. Unfortunately she found them uncomfortable.For her they were a little too thick.That said my mother finds anything slightly restrictive uncomfortable.I tested them and I didn't have a problem with them, and so they could work well for someone else. If you are dealing with someone who has bed sores it's worth giving them a go as they may just work for you.It's a simple design and a great concept, anything that elevates the foot off the bed has to be worth a try, but having dementia my mother doesn't really understand that they would help her if only she would persevere with them.So giving 3 stars may be a little harsh, but I can only review from my own experience.

What is the point?I’m going to start reading the reviews before I order things in future

Due to having very hyper mobile joints I can fine laying down or sitting with my legs straight out very uncomfortable. These fit around my ankles (and I can use them all the way up my calves and knees) and help keep the pressure off.They come with adjustable straps to help keep them on and in position but they are not fixed to them. I like this as it gives the option of being able to take them off quickly. You could also use these on your arms if you needed to remove pressure there.

I used these to raise my feet and stop them touching the bed when I put my feet up during the day. I found I needed to place a pillow under my legs to support my legs and stop them from aching.
