First let me say I've always loved Bastion Bolt Action pens, I have 2 Stainless Steel, 1 Carbon Fiber, 1 Titanium and have purchased over a dozen aluminum versions as gifts. Always thrilled with the quality. Until now. No problem with the body of the pen but the insert absolutely is horrid. It just won't write, skips and is not smooth. I reached out to Bastion customer service and they advised to "clean" the ballpoint and give it a little heat to get the ink flowing. That did not help. So I bought a Bastion refill. I working fine for maybe 5 minutes and is as horrid as the original. As I tossed the box I'm not even going to ask for a return. But my message to you is stay away from the MINI...and that probably why it looks like they may be discontinued. Don't be tempted to go for a bargain and grab one at a reduced price...you will absolutely regret it.

Pros: small, smooth, well builtCons: texture allows for poor leverage and grip, not well balance, bolt spring is very stiff which is highlighted by the poor leverage.

I've only used this pen for 2 days, haven't wrote but even 100 words and the pen keeps dying on me, I've tried all types of tips and tricks to get it working again and it will for a very short time, then dies again. Very disappointing.

Good pen. small size for everyday carry.

I like the pen even if it is slightly too short. The big issue is that the ink works intermittently.
