Endeavour: The Complete Eighth Season (Masterpiece Mystery!)

The original MORSE with John Thaw and Kevin Whatley was brilliant. It ran from 1987 - 2000. When ENDEAVOUR launched in 2012, I couldn't imagine it could ever be in the same league as the phenomenal MORSE but it is. Shaun Evans, as young Morse, and Roger Allam as 'Fred Thursday,' his older and wiser mentor, is a match made in Heaven. If you love well-written English crime stories with richly drawn characters, you will love this. Set in the University town of Oxford, England. Superb.

Well done as always. Top notch but will have to wait week to week for new episodes the new Season they are being released slowly.Thought Season 7 especially the later episodes were off a bit. But that was with Morse and 2 others Directing who were not listed in Directing any of the other seasons. Season 5 has 7 names for Directing!Seems to be back on point but still maybe a little bit off the earlier Seasons. Still very good.Maybe not the extremely sparkling camera work, especially scenic shots but well enjoyed with great plot and story telling with character growth and development.Not many shows have multiple seasons rated at 5 Stars, Endeavour does and its well earned.

I was happy to see all of the original cast back for season 8. DI Strange looked great with his weight loss, and when Miss Thursday so easily agreed to accompany him out on a "date", all I could think of will there be some discord between Strange and Morse? I enjoyed the storyline in this first episode. Definitely well done with the bombing and the football murder, and ofcourse how our hero, Morse", figured out the how, why, and the whom... with a little help from his team. Well done!!! I had a hard time watching Morse drinking Scotch all hours of the day and night. I was pleased when Joni called him out on it. That seemed to help him decide to sober up. I can't wait for episode 2.

I read that Morse was drinking a lot this season and I wasn't happy about that but he still won out in the end! I'm not a football fan at all yet I still enjoyed the episode.

PBS has a history of editing the life (and, sometimes, important clues) out of wonderful British shows. Once in a while, however, their DVD's contain the original full-length shows.Not here, I'm afraid.Compare the total run time (4 hours and 25 minutes) to the "PAL" version sold on Amazon, which is 6 hours!

Well, we were fooled. There is more than 1 eps in Season 8 and the pricing for the Season was different than for just eps 1 and we thought then there were more eps. NOT!

As above, why was there only one episode instead of the whole season which I thought I purchased?Endeavor is such a great series... from PBS Masterpiece. In fairness I can't find anything past episode 1 of season 8 anywhere, so why was Prime Video offering the whole season? Sure would like to know.
