THIS. STUFF. WORKS. LIKE. MAGIC!
I've heard about this for years and never had the nerve to try it. I just started an herb garden and while researching how to keep bugs away naturally and Diatomaceous Earth kept popping up. I figured I'd give it a try and LET ME TELL YOU. I will never use any other kind of pesticide EVER again. It's a little messy, so I recommend stationing your duster refill area near a more infested area of your yard or house just so it doesn't go to waste and you won't have to clean it up. If you have ANY kind of bug problem - USE THIS. We've also been overcome by tiny biting ants in our yard and I looked up how to take care of it naturally. OF COURSE, D.E. popped up again! So I went to town using the sand/d.e. in a grass seed spreader spreading it all over my 1 acre yard (I only needed 1- 10 pound bag of Harris Food Grade D.E. and 1 bag of play sand for the big job), while heavy dusting on specific ant hills and heavy bug traffic areas. So far After a month, I've seen a huge difference. They're relocating themselves away from the house, and I was able to track them to their nest. I dug up the nest, threw all the dirt into the woods far away from my house and spread the D.E everywhere in between. It's a slower process, but this stuff kills most insects within a 16-24 hour time period giving them no room to pro-create. I've only treated my whole lawn once and EVERYTHING seemed to calm down -mosquitos, biting flies, wood roaches, ear wigs, the ants AND even ticks!!! My dog used to walk in with at least 1 tick every other day and the fleas are GONE! I'm planning on treating my whole yard 2 more times within the next 2 months and then I'll only be treating the perimeter to keep everything away where I don't have to use as much D.E. and let everything settle back to normal. This stuff WORKS. I'll also be spreading it in my attic when I go to clean it to keep everything out of that! If you're on the fence, I suggest TRY IT! It is so much cheaper than an exterminator AND the food grade version is safe around kids and pets!!!!

Don't use outdoors on a windy day! lol
Just as described. Not my 1st bag of D.E. But is my 1st bag from this seller. It does what I purchased it for. It dehydrates a multitude of insects.. Example, while moving things around in the garage I came across a 'potato bug' part ant, spider, grub = alien or science experiment! It was hollowed out, and it wasn't there a couple of days ago.. so GOAL!!The only thing I've found it doesn't kill are spiders. But Talstar does. (domyown dot com) is the cheapest exterminator I know of and the best service provider I've ever known deals out the doses... me! Ha!!It's super rewarding to come home and see a spider that apparently had a home up in the eaves of my front porch (somewhere) spinning like it's part of circus circle.. twirling, spinning (what they do when they're poisoned).I hate using poisons, however I hate much more being bitten by spiders. I've never been bitten by a spider until I moved into this particular home fulltime. So bi annually I spray the perimeter of the property & home. The results are amaz' ba;;s..D.E. does the rest.Great thing about D.E, is when it gets wet and say an ant walks through it, it WEARS IT HOME.. and ends up sharing it with the household or hive.. team. Synced in the worst/best ways! Woo hoo.Best way to rid your property of insect type pests.. is dust your outdoors with D.E periodically (of course when the wind is on vaca) and within about 30 minutes to 4 hours your nests will be no more.*When I moved in to this home some years back, it was infested with fleas. The involvement of applying it to the carpets, furniture, and garage.. was as much fun as cleaning it up.Back then I had no clue about 'dry vacs or shop vacs'. : /I went through 4 vacuums and 1 carpet cleaner. Yeah.. Lesson learned.** Brushing (with a car wash brush, long handled) the sifted D.E on the carpet (everywhere)By the time you are all done, give it at least a few hours. I waited a day. Will clear up any boo boo's you may not know you had on your feet or a case of foot fungas, for sure. My toe nails were shiny by the time We done with the treatment from A to Z!! Better than a foot bath. Will definitely need to dust, after. Real bad! When reversing the application (cleaning it up) Please use a Shop Vac. It WILL have you replacing the motor of any household vacuums / Carpet Cleaners (Shampoo'ers, too) you use otherwise. : )But I can guarantee, if you this whatever your infestation is bed bug, flea, carpet beetle, etc your home will be free of these devils.(it's not nice to your respiratory if it becomes airborne. Like inhaling dust - well, that's the consistency of it.)So don't leave it set longer than a day. I had no choice. I was pooped when I did this. I did the whole house and needed to fall down for a while. Plus knowing this was a 38 year old infestation of fleas, I wanted to ensure I wouldn't be repeating this any time soon.I've seen a respectable builder on yt uses D.E in steps when building new homes or remodeling them. Dusting between the baseboards and floor, wall crevices, and voids.. where 'things' like to try to create homes.. if they get in, they WON'T be getting any further. No smell to this product either.Just be warned, if it becomes airborne, hold your breath until you can get away from the POOF.Great Product! Will be ordering more, shortly! As I partake in remodeling certain aspects of my home, THIS is being used between layers.. edges, borders, under the new carpet being laid, behind appliances, between the cracks before i seal them.** IF you think you may have 'something' mammal wise creeping around your indoors or outdoors.. try lightly dusting suspected areas with a good coat of D.E. over night.I wanted to see if my cats were walking my kitchen counter or if it was my Staffie standing up and pulling things off the counter.. I got the idea, and it worked wonders. It's amazing how far dogs can reach when they want something. Also, if you have an intrusive neighbor, dusting your area of suspicion will give you the much needed proof as well. My intruder was of the black & white kind with fingers.. Raccoon! Buggers! Biggest tabby non-cats I've ever seen! in my life. But now I know.Happy Experimenting!
