Camera Clip

Bought for traveling. Attached to back pack and or sling bag strap. Works really well. Easy to clip on. Easy to access and remove camera. Feels durable.

Exactly what I was looking for

I've used it once while hiking in the mountain, but it feels like solid construction. The metal feels like quality metal. I like how adjustable it is to fit different sizes of backpack straps. It's very easily installed and very easy to take on and off a camera. I used a video camera with a Rode mic attached to the hot shoe. The camera sits in the slot so that you have to lift it up to get it out. So if you don't lock the clip, then it won't fall out if you accidentally hit the release button. I do like that you can actually lock the release button as well, so that you don't accidentally push the release button, possibly releasing the camera and causing it to fall off. I was able to attach and release the camera quickly with no issues at all. The plate that comes with the clip even works for the tripod I was hoping it would. Overall, I would recommend this product. Hopefully it continues to function properly as I continue to use it.

PGYTECH Camera Clip - Worth it(?)

I was skeptical about how much I really needed this device. I had purchased this to take with me to the beach, as I knew I wanted to be hands free at times, and my current camera strap is too in the way for my liking. I use one of those diagonal straps, which is fine a lot of times, but I still find myself holding on to my camera constantly with it.Functionality:I used this on the strap of my camera bag. It's one of those generic cheap amazon camera backpacks that there's 100 copies of, maybe you have one, maybe you don't, which is fine, because this also worked on my other 2 backpacks I had lying around. It worked great on the trails. I wasn't jumping around or anything, and I trusted it as far as I trusted the strap of my bag to stay on. I would use it on my belt, but anything attached to my belt drives me crazy, especially a bulky full frame camera. You micro 4/3's photographers might make out on that one, but I think I would still be annoyed even with my old olympus attached to my belt. That's just me though, maybe you don't mind that kind of thing. The clip closes securely to whatever strap I put it on, the baseplate doesn't come loose from the camera, and the camera fits securely onto the clip. No complaints here. Just be cautious that you don't close it too tightly like I did at first, because it can be a pain to get off again. By the way, use a lens hood when wearing this.Drawbacks:The clip worked great at the beach. I could put my camera away and use both of my hands at will. However, I hate walking around with a backpack as it makes me sweat like crazy in the summer, even after a few minutes. If you have a backpack that breathes nicely, and you're going to be wearing the backpack anyway, then this is for you. I, however, am constantly at odds about how much I will be annoyed with carrying a backpack around, just for the sake of being able to be fully hands free with my camera. That's the biggest compromise with this clip, personally, as I like going on short hikes with the most reduced possible configuration. I also found it to be a little awkward to clip and unclip my camera, but it was just that- a little awkward, and no big deal.Bottom line:If you want to free your hands occasionally, keep your camera secure and out of the way, spend less than the premium brand, and if you already intend to use a backpack- then absolutely, yes, this is for you.

Quick access

Liking this thing. I didn't know if I wanted to try the Peak Designs V3 or this, and went for the cheap option. Seemed like this would be easier to move between bags, so I was willing to take chance on it having less grip. Very new to photography, but you don't need experience to know that having a DSLR dangling off your neck is annoying for you and less safe for the camera.I've only tested it with my lighter lenses, and my camera body is very light (Canon SL3), but this clip is holding firm when I give it a strong tug. Removing the plate is easy to do when you want to, but it's not something you can do accidentally. You have to firmly dig up a clasp that should be very taut. I can VERY slightly get it to move a bit when I pull down hard on it, but it honestly might be the fabric on the backpack wiggling, and this is with a LOT of pressure pulling down. My SL3 + EFS 10-18mm barely feels like it's there. However, my main carry lens will be the EFS 55-135mm, but the weight difference between the two isn't too major. I also have a 60D and a Tamron 70-200mm, so I'll try attaching that enormous setup on there just for the heck of it. I'm 95% sure the clip will hold up to that just fine. The release is good. I wanted to be able to quickly get my camera up to my eye and ready to shoot on my upcoming trip to Yellowstone. You with a lighter camera, you CAN get it with one hand if you really needed to, but it's a bit fumbly. With two hands it can be super quick. From the left strap of a backpack, you'd be using your left hand to press in the release button on that side (assuming you left it unlocked), with your right hand on your camera grip. It's pretty easy to get back in there too... I look down and can see components line up and slide it right down in. The one I received does not give much audible feedback when the clip locks to the plate -- a satisfying click would be nice -- but it locks in really easily. The release button can be rotated and doubles as a lock, for when you don't even want to accidentally press the release button.Lastly, the base plate fits my tripod perfectly, which I'm sure experienced photographers would expect from reading descriptions, but for me it was something I was wondering about. This was a good buy from Prime Day, and my main regret right now is that I didn't buy two.

Surprisingly sturdy and easy to use.

Purchased as a gift for a friend and she loved it so much, I got jealous and bought one for myself. We both use it for hiking with our dogs and for dog photography. I recently also used it on a trip to Ireland and it works well for all day traveling around the countryside.Surprisingly sturdy and easy to use.

Great clip

Great clip, easy to use, ridiculously durable, a solid chunk of metal but not heavy. Very happy with it and completely comfortable with it holding my cameras on a backpack strap or on my belt.
