After an extended period of low-carb legalism, I’ve reached a point in my life where I need legit substitutes for starchy foods in order to stay on the wagon. Given the choice between eating real tortillas and eating a fried egg with coconut flour that “identifies” as a tortilla, I’m going to pick the real thing. But given a choice between real tortillas and these La Banderita carb counter tortillas, I’m going to pick these. Yes, they’re full of wheat—wheat starch, wheat gluten, wheat wheat wheat. But I’d rather have some wheat gluten in a lower-carb format and still have a sensible boundary set up to keep me in line. And honestly, wheat gluten is delicious...which means these tortillas are pretty good too. Straight out of the package, they feel just a little undercooked and either the leavening or the dough conditioner gives them a slight aftertaste, but as part of a dish they’re excellent. I had tacos tonight, and these La Banderita tortillas nestled cozily in the tortilla warmer tasted and felt like real flour tortillas. (And yes, I’ve eaten the real thing recently enough to know. I told you, I needed better alternatives.) I’ll be purchasing these again for sure. And again, and again. And while I’d prefer to purchase them in my local grocery store, I don’t even mind the shipping cost, because these are very economical in comparison to the swarms of incredibly trendy and accordingly overpriced keto products. I’m trying to find a balance between keeping myself in check and enjoying the fleeting days upon this earth that the true and living God has granted to me. And I enjoy low-carb tacos much more when my tortillas have a little gluten in them and they didn’t cost $2 a piece.

I love these
These are really good tortillas that are keto friendly and low points for weight watchers and taste like real flour tortillas do. I love them!

An indispensable part of a low carb, low calorie diet
I was under orders from my doctor to cut carbs and lose weight (pre-diabetic). After trying various low carb tortilla options, I settled on La Banderita because of their reasonable pricing and quality ingredients (Olive oil instead of the reportedly artery clogging hydrogenated vegetable oil used by other companies). These zero carb mini tortillas are especially useful for me: the small, 4 1/2 inch size is helpful when it comes to learning portion control, the complete lack of carbs makes limiting carb intake much much easier. And at 20 calories per tortilla, calories are slow to add up , while the quality ingredients means that I am reasonable assured that I am not damaging on part of my body to solve a problem with another. I should point out, also, that the tortilla is just slightly larger than the standard round lunchmeat slice, so I can make quick, filling, no carb meals with a LB tortilla, a slice of Cotto Salami, a dab of mustard, some greens and a mozzarella stick.

These are amazing, and I am an idiot
I wrote TWO revised reviews of these over time, because they changed at one point, but I COMPLETELY misread the label. Thing is, I THOUGHT it was measuring nutrition PER tortilla, when in fact it's PER 2 tortillas. these went from 20 cal and an inch smaller, to 30 calories and a better size to work with. As my diet has changed (and I've lost weight, thank you) these have been AMAZING. I didn't realize that 2 tortillas, are 13 GRAMS of Fiber on their own. This is AMAZING. at more than half of the fiber needed for the day, some protein (not much, but still!), AND with 330 grams of salt, it's not too bad to fit into what I need. These have become the cornerstone of saving myself as I lose weight. Whether it's with small breakfast burritos, or quesadillas, you can't go wrong with these if you're going low carb. 10/10.

Decent Alternative/Substitute
These meet my current diet requirements, calorie wise. They are somewhat dry but edible. They’ll do for now.

It tastes GREAT!
So, have you ever bought a low carb flour tortilla only to have it taste like you've used a brown paper towels or part of a burlap bag? Well if you have I have got some great news (assuming you don't like burlap bags flavor) cuase these guys taste almost like a real flour tortilla. Now I say almost because it's a little different in taste but that's if you're just eating it plain with nothing as a test. If you're using any filling it's just like a natural nice and soft flour tortilla and I think you'd be very hard pressed to tell the difference between it and a plain carb loaded version.I use these as I am diabetic. One tortilla has 15 grams of carbs but 11 grams fiber so it's 4 net carbs. That's well within my carb budget as a diabetic but I'm not sure how that would do for you keto diet people.Only negative is that they are NOT Prime shipping eligible so it was almost 8 bucks shipping to where I live. Ordering 2 (8 packs total) only increased the shipping by a couple cents so that's the route I took and it's still far cheaper and better tasting than the options I have at my local stores.
