Good read!

I really enjoyed this book and I have read almost all of hers! The storyline was great as was the action.... the romance was perfect too.

The book arrived on time. It is in almost perfect condition as promised.

Miss Sandra is a great writer. She keeps her readers in suspense and you really get into her books

I love Sandra Brown's books and this is nothing like what she normally writes. But I enjoyed this tremendously. It took me a while to get caught up in the story, but I finally did and am glad I finished it.

Thus was different from other of her books and a little long but it was a good read. The characters interesting.

I was hesitant to read this book, and it has sat in my TBR for months. I wish I had gotten to it sooner. It had plot twists, surprises along the way and was closer to the books I had come to love from this author. Laurel is our h and she has a rough go from the start. I really loved out H, Thatcher Hutton. I'm from TX and knew all the towns referenced and have lived in a couple. So that was cool to read about places I have been. The main town the book is set in, I'm pretty sure is fictitious. There used to he a Foley County, but it wasn't located where this book is set. I enjoyed the characters and storyline.Standalone suspense romance, told from multiple POV. We get a HFN with the Laurel and Thatcher as well as other couples in the book. Definitely recommend.

Set during the Prohibition Era, this book is the story of a widow named Laurel and her ties to the bootlegging industry as well as her attraction to a deputy sheriff named Thatcher. The two attract and repel and their interactions made the story a romance as well as an adventure. There were some real scoundrels in the tale and I was glad to read about them getting what was coming to them. My favorite character was Laurel because she was a strong female protagonist with a backbone and a will to survive in spite of all the bad hands that life had dealt her. I also liked Irv, her father-in-law, who was a ne’er-do-well determined to help his daughter-in-law thrive in a harsh environment. Finally, I enjoyed the character of Corinne, a young woman who didn’t know how to read but who had more common sense than a lot of people who did. This is a book that is part adventure, part romance and all entertainment.I checked out a copy of this book from my local library using the Libby App. I was not required to write a positive review. BrilliantRawHeart wrenchingBeautiful main y second charactersDont want to give a lot of spoilers, give it a chance, one of her best books (later books i mean).There are some sick characters as well, very detailed crime scenes, on page there are ... lot. It was sick. Didnt like that, thats why minus one star.Perfect writing, a bit slow (a bit, i didnt want to put it down) on first half, but gripping, and engrossing from 50%.Strong heroine, she wasnt some “poor young widow”. Wow, she’s got some steel, all right. She was pushing him away but he was after her from first sight.And so tender and strong hero, WOWOWOWO, love him!Safe story.

This book has been on my TBR pile since its release, and I feel like hitting myself for not reading it earlier. This book has all the twists and turns. The romance wasn't forced. Overall, an excellent read.
