Q: Will it work on android

It works with Bluetooth and the Sonos system of multi room speakers. I think there are better Bluetooth speakers but as part of the Sonos system it can’t be beaten

Q: Will the 45w usb-c charger that i use for the sonos move also charge the roam?

I should certainly think so - 45w would power a battleship!

Q: i have a sonos play 1 and a play 5 is this roam compatible with both?

It depends on the age of your other Sonos products. I have a Play 5, two Play 3s and two Sonos Ones. All were fine running off the S1 controller however, when I got the Roam I had to download the S2 controller which forcibly made me split my Sonos system! My Play Ones, Play 3s and Roam now run-off the S2 system but my Play 5 - which was bought at the same time as my Play 3s - has to run-off the S1 system. This means that I can’t play the same music in every room. I would genuinely recommend that you avoid the Roam. It’s functionality is shocking and you will be committed to the whims of Sonos, which never ends well!

Q: Did you have to sign up for an account first

If you mean a Sonos account, I don’t think you do, but obviously having an account helps with firmware updates. However if you wish to stream from Sonos Radio then I should think you do need an account - then again I use Tune-in Radio and have installed TalkRadio and Best Smooth Jazz apps on my smart phone, all of which permit me to stream those facilities on my Roam without any Sonos account. In passing: Roam is a good piece of kit - I take it with me most places.
