It protects me from the sun but it is very cheaply made. It is a bit tight around my head even with adjusting the velcro on the back. Not only that within a week of owning this, the plastic boning that gives the hat its shape (helps keep the sun visor part up) starts poking me in my head, it's sticking out of the hat. The bow/scarf part is starting to fray at the edges because of the crap sewing job. Give this 3 stars is honestly a bit generous for this product. It was kinda cheap though, I think I paid around $17 so it s not that big of a loss to me but still... Oh and another thing, makes your head hot I guess because it's a little tight.

The hat is cute. Bought it for the scarf to cover my neck while out gardening. Well I can't return it so I guess now I have to buy sew on snaps. The snap of the hat is ripped off (snap part pulled out of the scarf and the both snap parts are on the hat) and the snap on the scarf arrived pulled out in the bag so I can't even use the scarf at this point. I removed the scarf completely and the hat is fine otherwise. The top comes off to make a visor which is cute. I guess I'm going to have to buy sew on snaps to fix this mess. If you only want it for the hat or visor then it looks fine. Don't count on neck protector.

This sun hat provides great eye and skin protection from bright sun, even in the tropics. Scarf can be loosened to hang down the back and sides for neck protection, almost like a hijab. In case wind threatens to blow hat off your head, there is a snap to fasten scarf under chin.I would have appreciated snap placed closer in, for a snugger fit. I also would have preferred a choice of scarf prints. The scarf my beige hat came with features lots of orange, a color that doesn’t really complement my wardrobe.

This is a great sun shade hat that can be rolled up, folded, zipped or removed the top part, put down scarf to protect neck, less costly, etc. I also want to compare what I bought before, which gives me reason to rank this product 5 stars. I bought the pink one with other brand, which top can not be unzipped; after I wore a few weeks with that hat, the forehead area starts to show sweat oily stain that is very visible (see the comparison of this blue hat to the pink one with other brand). I washed that hat, but the sweat stain remains. With this Roll up Wide Brim Sun Visor hat, the manufacture designed the forehead area with scarf band around. So, even if after wearing it, sweat stain on the hat will be covered up with the scarf band. So, the hat keeps looking clean and nice. I like this hat so much, and I offered my second ordering a beige color one.

I bought this hat thinking the scarf was completely removable but it is sewn completely around the hat brim. The part of the scarf that hangs over your neck snaps off but be aware when purchasing this item that you will never be able to wear this hat as a solid color. The visor will always have this scarf wrapped around it (like a permanent headband built in.)

Decently made, flexible, with parts being adjustable and detachable. Perhaps better for a (light) rain hat than a sun hat because of the fabric (looks like a classy rain hat, not straw hat or something you're likely to see at the beach or in hot climates a lot), but I plan to use it as both. The part of the hat in the front extends about 4.5 inches out in center. I figure that will be good if I want to put a point and shoot camera to my face to take a picture if it's misting or raining very lightly. Sash on hat (mostly blue) is colorful and fun, although you cannot remove the part that circles the hat completely unless you want to use scissors or seam ripper for sewing to do that permanently. Can, however, detach the bottom part that extends to protect your neck from sun. Not sure I'll use it just as a visor (with top, zippered part removed), but maybe I will if my head gets too hot. I ordered the khaki tan so it goes with just about everything. Overall, I'm happy with the quality, looks and fit (adjustable) of this hat. It's more functional than stylish, but for me that's fine.

I'm not a big fan of hats but due to recent skin issues have to have the added protection. This hat is cute. The material is a bit on the slick side so you do have to keep pulling it down onto your head and readjusting to keep it on which is a bit bothersome. Can't attest to the UV protection as of yet. Lots of ways to style it though. If it protects my skin as it says it will then I'm happy with the purchase.

When I first opened it I thought I had made a wrong choice because the cloth piece was down. I took it off and realized it has a spot on the back so you can tie it into a bow or knot and attach it or wear it without the extra piece. Very cute, love a wide brim as I am not supposed to get to much sun on my face because I had skin cancer, plus too much sun ages your skin.

This hat is very pretty as well as being a really decent sun hat. I am really pleased with its fit and delighted can alter how you wear it to suit. The hat has a detachable top section and the sun shade fabric can also be popped off if required. Add this to how really pretty the hat is and its perfect for keeping cool. A very feminine style which I love.

I love this hat. I am unable to go outside in the sun/bright light as I get a bad skin reaction. I still avoid going out when the sun is at its hottest but this hat means I can still go out at other times. The material can be clipped together at the front which protects your cheeks, neck and chin from the sun. I dont care what it looks like because it means I can now go outside but it is actually a pretty hat, in lovely colours and is more flattering than you would think. Its well made and good quality. covers my face well

Useful and pretty, but the butterfly bow doesn't fit on the back because the fastener is the wrong way round. I have fixed it by using a hair band to attach the bow. I'm looking forward to using it in the summer. I like that it works like a baseball cap but is more feminine.

You don't really need a SUN HAT to be warm ... i used the scarf addition as a pattern and have added suitable material for my outfits .

Bought this for my elderly aunt as she is prone to sun burn on her face. She absolutely loves it.The wide brim covers the face nicely from the sun and as she wheelchair bound with a headrest it comfortable for her to wear without the headrest squashing a brim at the bag and pushing it off her head. Extra bonus, it's pretty too.
