Runs great on 18volt battery

I used this amplifier to make a boom box using old PC speakers. It runs on an 18volt Makita battery, because that's what I have. Works perfectly, great sound. The only down side with the amplfier is that it drains the battery if it is left plugged in, even if off. There is no balance control on this amp, but for this application that does not matter. Update: I ended up adding a power switch to solve the battery drain problem. This thing has been great, no problems at all. Range seems very good. I didn't use the external antenna, it's in a wooden box so the internal antenna works fine.

Great little amplifier - but RF noisy

I've purchased a few 2.1 mini amplifiers for use on PCs, for speakers in a kitchen, etc. This works the best of them. Runs fine from a 12V power brick I had spare. Puts out more power when connected to a 24V power adapter, but will run somewhat hot. Seeing as how the unit doesn't really have much of a case, it takes a bit more effort to turn it off via the volume control - it is so light. Really drives a passive subwoofer well - this thing can be quite loud. The only downside I'll say for it - it is RF noisy, that is - if you have any kind of AM radio, whether it be broadcast, shortwave or HAM, it creates copious amounts of interference. If that's not an issue to you - its a great amplifier.

Great amp at a great price

These are great sounding amps for a great price. I have used two of them for a couple of unique projects. One was used to modernize an old Magnavox console stereo that was no longer operational, and the other was used in a 2.1 ammo can speaker project. In both cases, this amp exceeded my expectations in both sound quality and build quality. I have also used several of the two channel versions with equally impressive results.

Must have 24v adapter. Read to save you the frustration.

I'd like to start off saying. I have a 2 channel amp board in my boat running 4 marine speakers in series and another power bass board at my camp with 2 6x9s. I've been eye balling this for home but also to replace on boat and camp so I can add a sub for better sound.Ok so I received it and was so anxious to hear how it works. It comes in pieces with no instructions but common sense helped me throw it together quick.Hooked it up to a 12v adapter I had for a scale and it made loud noises and would cut off.Called Amazon and they replaced it saying I had possibly a defective one. New one came and same loud noise. I started to realize that it says 12v-24v and ordered a 24v 6a power supply with 5.5 female plug. All I can say is HOLY COW!!2 Yamaha book shelf speakers with 6.5 speakers and tweeters and a 6.5" sub in enclosure from a Sony surround sound set I had. All I can say is wow. It cranks so well no distortion even at full volume.I would give this a 10 of 10.It cranks crystal clear and the sub really bangs. Gonna switch the sub to a 10" kicker I have because this amp is too much for that 6.5".Now the most important part. Spend the $14 and buy the 24v power supply Amazon recommends. It's not worth trying with 12v power supply. It don't work well. Make sure the supply you buy is a 3 prong plug not a 2 that 3rd prong is ground. This amp needs it.If you don't buy it after reading this. You made a serious mistake.Thank me later!! Enjoy. I am!!Added 10 sub and not enough watts.. pushed the suround sound sub perfectly

Only used few times, broke and killed a speaker

I ordered this a few months back, used it a few times and it worked great. Using a laptop charger within voltage specs, and about 6.3 amps to power it. Never went above 1/4 volume once as it was incredibly loud even at near minimum. Turned it on today and it worked for a few seconds, then it cut out and just started making a clicking noise every half second or so. Tested via AUX IN and Bluetooth - same deal. Plugged in the speakers to my boombox - it took my right speaker out with it, it's 90% quieter than it was just minutes prior.. Horrible product, would never recommend to anyone on the face of the planet regardless of financial situation. Just shell out for something nicer where you won't get speakers killed, or deal with what you already got.

Good product, seems to be 50/50 on these if you get a good one or not.

Some of these got HOT and died immediately or within a month. Some have lasted years and dont run hot. This is a good product if you get a good one. Basically playing the chinese silicon lottery here.Edit - Seems I had 1 bad unit out of 4 and amazon accepted the return on the bad one. Upping to 4 stars because the ones that I have going sound great when paired with a decent PSU and have lasted 2 plus years at this point. Highly reccomend a used 3d printer power supply and xt60 to barrel jack adapter. Or multiple PCIE 6 pin to single barrel jack adapter and a spare computer PSU with a jig to turn it on so it thinks its plugged into a motherboard (75 watts x 3 should hit 200w easy enough). many ways to do this, whatever happens to be cheaper on ebay or that you have laying around. These things JAM. Much bass. very happy with it and I rescind my former complaints.

Great amplifier. Arrives incomplete. Good luck.

I will be fully transparent. I can't solder to save my rear. The connector to use the external antenna comes unsoldered to the board. So the product photo is total misleading BS.Has okay range without the antenna and sounds good. Unfortunately this is going into an ammo can stereo that needs an external antennae.I really don't understand why the manufacturer doesn't just solder the connector on to avoid the hassle. So if you don't regularly solder small electrical circuits I guarantee you you're not going to get this together right.Pretty disappointing because it sounds pretty good for the money.

Excelente producto y potencia de salida

A pesar del tamaño compacto, tiene una salida de audio impresionante, claro siempre y cuando se use una fuente del voltaje y amperaje recomendado por el vendedor. 100% recomendable
