the package says: contains no phosphates safe for septic.

Q: Can this be used with a septic tank?

On the back of the package in the lower right hand corner, it does state -"Safe for Septic Systems. Contains no Phosphates." You could contact the company and confirm, 888-476-6688 - Mon-Fri 9 am to 4 pm EST. Hope this helps!

Q: will this product work for bathroom sinks as well?

You're not supposed to open the package. The disposer shreds the water-soluble package so I don't think this product should be used in bath areas

I had never known about it either...in all my years, I had never had a stinking garbage disposal. EVER!! Not until the one in my apartment started smelling after being here for a 1.3 years..smelling really badly, so gross, yucky. I then googled what I could do to get rid of the nasty garbage disposal odor. After using this product..no more nasty odor. Because the smell was so bad, I did one and then I did another one right after the first one..for good measure!! So now you know it is definitely "a thing"!!
