Updated: great product if installed properly
New review: I've managed to resolve the motion issue that lead me giving the product 2 stars. The issue was with the angle of the camera. I've now decided to expand the system by installing more cameras and the doorbell.Old review with 2 stars:I bought and installed this about 6 months . There are many positives like the app and the picture quality. It is easy to install too. Battery life is less than advertised but would last you month on the less efficient settings. The reason I am giving it a poor score fo 2 stars because the motion detection and/or the AI has failed me too many times to count from day 1. It won't detect or record any motion beyond 4-5 meters. As an example, I don't have a single recording of my large garbage being collected by the sanitary worker from front of the house (max 5 meters away).I have have contacted their support who are respondent but yet to resolve what problem. I have had to lower the camera only for the detection to get worse. If someone hits my car or damages it, this won't record! I have dummy tested the scenario. It only records motion effectively when someone is 2 meters away. I have tried all their settings but nothing has helped.

Wireless Cameras with no Subscription!
So I've seen a lot of reviews with regards to wireless cameras, ended up between eufy and arlo. I decided to go with Eufy due to the higher ratings, don't get me wrong but I saw some reviews on Eufy prodcuts that left me sceptical. After 2 months with 3 cameras, they work very good. Notifications come to your phone within a few seconds, night visit is great and the main thing, you dont need no wiring to install. Some of the cons I would say, when comparing to a wired system which is a closed circuit, there's obviously no 24hr loop recording, battery life and the main negative review I've seen a lot is the connectivity about camers going offline. I agree that maybe hours to days that a camera wouldn't connect but you can change the homebase mode to beta and i think maybe with new updates, so far no outages for a month nearly. I have added the 2c pro camera for my front door in addition. Battery life has been as per box, i use high surveillance mode and it's been 2 months with 3 bars...If your camera does go down and it doesnt connect for 5 days or so, just contact eufy support and they'll give you a new camera free of charge of course. To summarise, we're all home owners who don't want to ruin our home with new cables for a camera system and despite the initial connection problems, these cameras are amazing value for money

Homekit compatibility
I have been moving all my home automation over to Homekit and as I use iCloud thought would be good to get Homekit Secure video cameras. At first I brought a Logitech Circle but this was useless as kept dropping connection for days on end. Have a Aqara for in garage and that's great but no good for outdoors so hunted for good alternative. In the end I gave up on home kit secure and purchased the eufycam 2 Pro thinking it only worked as normal Homekit video not secure video. To my surprise and delight it actually has HKSV which was great result and made this purchase the perfect setup.Couple of negative points:Mounts are not great if you want the camera at a 90 degree angle but there are after market ones available I will be purchasing at some point. There is no voice option through Homekit, you can hear and see but no option to speak. This isn't a major for me as they are covering the rear of property and never used voice anyway.Positives are:Very good quality cameraGreat pictureHKSVBattery seems to be lasting ok have had in place for around 3 weeks and only lost 10% on one and 5% on other. Bear in mind with HKSV enabled the battery does drain quicker so this isn't bad at all.Great camera system and highly recommended.

Long term review- started well but……..
I would like to start by saying that I do not usually feel the need to write product review, but my experiences with this security system over the past year compelled me to do so.Secondly I would like to say that I spend a lot of my time working with tech and am very good at following instructions and getting things to work.I purchased the Eufy just over 1 year ago and I was absolutely delighted with it, it was easy to set up and motion detection and picture quality are excellent. I was so pleased with it that I was contemplating spending more money to expand the system with add ins such as door bells and extra cameras. I did purchase a motion detector. After a few weeks the cameras stopped activating but could still be viewed live. I contacted Eufy and this was fixed with a firmware update. All was great again for a few months, very pleased. Then the cameras started going offline randomly !!! To fix this I would have to climb up a ladder, bring the camera down to the Homebase unit and reconnect it, then climb up the ladder and remount it. The camera would then work fine for a few hours and then go offline again. They would stay online usually for between 4 and 24 hours and the 2 cameras would go offline at different times to each other, implying that it must be an issue with the cameras rather than the bas unit. The signal strength is good and I had previously had 6 months without this problem. Interestingly the motion detector has been working fine for the whole time and that is at the bottom of the garden, over 3 times the distance from the base unit.I do not like climbing ladders and I don’t like wasting my time. I got fed up and didn’t even bother with them for a while. Recently I decided to try again and recharged , rebooted and upgrade the firmware on both cameras. Once again they worked fine for few hours but then one went offline after 8 hours and the over after bout 26 hours.Having done a bit of searching on line it seems that I am far from the only one experiencing these problems. On contacting Eufy you simply get a stock reply outlining what you need to do to troubleshoot and reboot etc, this is all advice that is already available and that I have repeatedly followed to the letter many times.A security system must be reliable and this is far from reliable and is therefore not fit for purpose. Total waste of time and money.
