EDITED TO ADD: Missing piece found. When unpacking, look carefully... they stick together.Perfect! Just what we needed! So easy to assemble, a child could put them together. So I let my grandchildren do it for me. They enjoyed the simple and satisfying activity. (It takes about 2 minutes per segment.) A great design! The wire pieces literally slide and *snap* into place securely. So easy!They can be screwed permanently to the surface, or you can use double stick tape. In our case we used flexible 1-inch wide magnetic adhesive strips. This allows for easy positioning (and removal if necessary) on top of our window AC unit.They are the right height and length to give flexibility in placement.The silver/aluminum color can be seen from the street... but if want them to be less visible and obvious, just spray-paint them black before affixing to the surface. (The birds can still see them, though and they will not land. So far, they have provided the protection needed.)

I bought these to keep the squirrels from using my fence as a throughway between yards and tormenting my high prey drive dog. Applied side by side in pairs across the top rail of the fence, they have slowed the traffic considerably. I didn’t need to run them the full length of the fence. I just needed to put about 20’ of them on each end. I had to apply a couple to the face of the fence as they figured out how to circumvent the top by clinging to the 2x4 on the side. The spikes aren’t sharp, but they are sturdy and don’t bend easily. Placement was trial and error, so save a few extra sets of spikes to adjust your pattern when the squirrels figure it out. Squirrels are crafty little devils.

Spikes arrive disassembled....surprise!I was a put off at first, I wanted to put in place quickly and be done with it.These assembly VERY quicklyJust push spikes through the bottom of the rail, ready to place....This is an excellent option for storing extra pieces.I only need a few spikes for now and the rest will store easily as seen in the attached photo....I am using Gorilla double faced indoor/outdoor tape....more than strong enough to hold up to windy evening in Arizona

WEAR EYE PROTECTION, as noted elsewhere. This is not a joke, you could end up with serious eye damage if not careful. These are effective, easy to install, etc.; however, sometimes if you are not holding them tightly enough, they will spring out of the holes into your face or chest or wherever.... One of them bounced off my glasses. Truth is they are a pain to put together, but got to where I could assemble one in 2.5 minutes, so not a great effort or waste of time. Still, being in a hurry, a couple of them were not properly seated before I released them, and Poing! off they went. Note too: To forestall rusting (they claim to be stainless, but the spikes don't look it), I spray painted them after assembly to match the house color. BL: They are almost invisible in the roof rafters and the mourning doves have moved on.... Last, they cut easy enough but you'll need heavy scissors or tinsnips (and that's only for the strip, the wires need wire cutters).

Quality product that takes a little doing to put together but is over all easy to assemble - unless you have weak hands! The first few I tried to install shot off like a little rocket because I wasn't holding them tight enough while squeezing together but they were easy to find and re-try until I got it right. My thumb was a little sore at the end of assembling 20' for these from the final push into place but the soreness only lasted a couple hours, no big deal. These will definitely keep the birds off and frankly any critter you're keep off of a surface these are installed on. They are big, pokey, and strong.

These bird spikes work great at keeping birds and other Critters away from the areas that you just want to keep them away from. There's some assembly required but I didn't think it was hard or time-consuming at all. You can't beat the price

These are OK for larger birds. They're listed as 'pidgeon spikes', and that's about the smallest bird they'll work on. Mockingbirds just land on them like they weren't there.But they do what they are advertised to do. It's an OK product.

I had a bird that always wanted to build her nest inside my open porch area. I let this happened one time but the mess from the chicks was not worth it. These work great. I also cut them in half for smaller areas.
