Without this all the dynotrap catches is flying bugs and moths. Evidently I learned Mosquitos aren't attracted to light. They are attracted to human scent and the pheromones or something. Anyway, this little pooch has that! We dropped one in our dynotrap basket and noticed less and less mosquitos. Keep in mind, this isn't an overnight mosquito catcher. You leave the dynotrap out 24/7 starting in the Spring and it could take several weeks to catch them and stop their egg cycle. You don't move it around either. It will work.

seems to work, but the smell is scary, sure like biological weapon level. don’t touch it with hand better with a glove. i am sure mosquito love that smell.

I opened this and phew did it stink! I dropped it into the holding tank of my DynaTrap and watched it over the next couple of days. Day one, it attracted a bunch of mosquitos. Day two, still going great. This went on for several days, but after about a week, there was a dramatic drop in the quantity of mosquitoes captured. and the scent tapered off considerably. After 2 weeks, you could barely smell the thing and the mosquito trap had barely any mosquitoes at all. The thing was non-existent after about a month. While the Octanol didn't pull in as many mosquitoes as this did, it did so for far longer! For what I paid for this, the 2 week effectiveness wasn't really worth it when you consider that you need to kill 3 generations of mosquitoes in a season in order to make a dent in getting attacked. Considering how long this one pack lasted, you'd have to go through 6 of these at the very least to accomplish this. That's very expensive.

This smelled SOOOOOO BAD!! Pretty sure it’s what they use to train cadaver dogs. Don’t know if it works because it just smelled lip the place, so while it may be a mosquito repellent, it’s also a human repellent.

After 20 years of running a Mosquito Magnet Liberty I finally went out and bought a Liberty Plus. This is a really good unit, but I'm talking about the lure.Ran the magnet the first night with no lure and picked up a good bit of brown mosquitoes. Popped the lure in the bottom of the snout (left the cap off) and the next day *MORE* mosquitoes. It's picking up the big brown ones and the small brown ones which fly at night.However it's not attracting the Asian Tigers, which we have here in Maryland. Ug. So I'll run this for awhile and see if I can get one of my old Liberty units working again at which point I'll go back to Lurex (which did work for AT's). But if you have the annoying brown night mosquitoes this will definitely call them into the trap.
