An excellent piece of kit for the money
I just received this today and my first impressions are extremely positive. I managed to avoid the delivery troubles that some other reviewers complained of and my unit arrived scratch free and still inside all of it's plastic and cardboard packaging - thanks to my DPD delivery driver for the great service.Despite what it says in the manual, you can easily assemble the rack in less than 15 minutes using just a couple of adjustable spanners. Once it is complete, the rack it's pretty solid, but I do have to agree that the rubber on the spotter bars looks as if it was applied by a 5 year old using a glue gun for the first time. It's not a big issue though as you can easily re-glue them at a later date.I noticed that a few people complained about having to screw and unscrew the bolts in between different exercises. I don't know if their rack differs from mine, but the moving parts are all held together with quick release bolts that you tighten just enough for the release to go through the hole - you don't tighten the bolt all the way - then all you have to do is pull out the orange part of the bolt and slide the catchers and spotters to whatever height you desire. It's completely tool-less.I did a test workout this evening and I had up to 190KG/418LBS on the rack and it was rock solid. I lowered the catchers and spotter bars and tried to bench press and I had no problems with my elbows catching anything. For reference, I am 5'9 and I grip the bar with my little fingers about an inch inside the rings on a standard power bar. If you hold the bar any wider than the rings, then you're probably going to have some trouble. I tried the dip bars and they were also perfectly stable - they didn't feel too wide for me, but I do have pretty wide shoulders. All in all, the rack has exceeded my expectations and I'm very happy with my purchase. I shall update the review should anything change over the coming weeks.

Works with a thick bar!
Bought to compliment their adjustable bench, I'm really impressed with this piece of kit. Alternative versions can be bought from Amazon from other brands, but I have a lot of Bodymax kit and there's a trust to using the brand.I use this exclusively for squats, dips, calve raises and swapping out weights. I don't have much space where I work out, and use only a 4 foot thick bar, so the unit has always been in the narrowest configuration. It easily copes with my weight (95kg) on the dips, with only a slight knock from the adjustable bar (when lowering down), and copes just fine with an 80kg bar on the high mounts. I'd be happy to put 150kg on them.As for the unit, it took 15 minutes to put together. It uses 17mm bolts, which had me searching for suitable spanners, but otherwise a simple case of lining up the bolts and tightening everything down. I haven't had to adjust them after using it for around 25 workouts, which is great. There are holes if you wanted to bolt it into the ground as well for additional stability, but you'd lose the ability to adjust the width. And adjusting is a case of removing any weights (obviously) and then undoing a hand bolt, adjusting to the right length and tightening it back up. Because I always use it on one size, I think I appreciate the speed at which I can get into a workout or how quickly I can change up what I'm doing. If I had to adjust it all the time I'd be frustrated and bored. And then less likely to complete a full work-out.But the best part is that it works really well with thick bars. I use a Watson 2.5 inch Stubby bar, which is huge compared to a 1 inch and there's plenty of room on the high mounts. One final note, when mine was delivered the box was in pieces. Thankfully I had all the bolts, but how it was packaged meant that it was never really going to arrive without some damage to the box.

but fortunately the Yodel-guy noticed (Well done Yodel-guy)
Delivered on the promise date, but the packaging for this thing was a joke. The box was in tatters and some stuff fell out, but fortunately the Yodel-guy noticed (Well done Yodel-guy). I highly recomend you check the contents before signing for delivery. The stand rubber supports do indeed look as though a child glued them on. Not even a good child either.Assembly of the rack couldn't be easier: 6 bolts and 5 screw in things, BOOM! yer done! Assembled by myself using an adjustable wrench and a spanner.Feels good and safe to use for benching (also got the York Fitness Bench) and other lifts. This was also my first time doing dips without using wobbly-ass chairs...feels 200% better using the rack.I'll leave it in my will to update this review if the rack falls apart and kills me.Another review had the criticism that the spotters could do with better increments for width while benching. I can add that i'm a short guy (5' 6") and i find it fine. You giants might need to get your tape-measure out and measure your elbow-elbow width. Mine's 30" (APPROX!!) when i pack my shoulders 'back and down'.I give 5 stars because despite the packaging and the quality of the rubber supports, it's easily one of the smartest choices i've made reguarding fitness gear (I'm gonna make ALL the gains). Given the option, i'd prolly go with 4.5 stars. No love was baked into this product, just function.
