A Spanish-only dictionary for the rest of us
My wife (from Monterrey, Mexico) and I (from Dallas, Texas) needed a Spanish-only dictionary. I have an excellent Spanish-English dictionary (the American Heritage), but that didn't work too well for her, and I had progressed far enough that I needed one that didn't refer back to English. I first bought her a piece of junk (the Diccionario Practico De La Lengua Espanola Del Nuevo Mundo); nothing we looked up was already there! It became quite clear to us that this was the most fundamental dictionary; anyone who spoke Spanish didn't need it.Fortunately, this dictionary saved us. While still not as extensive as we might like, it's comprehensive enough that nearly everything we look up is in there. I'm still looking for the truly comprehensive Spanish dictionary she wants, but this is quite serviceable.

If you want this book, you'd better get a magnifying glass, too
In order to fit this dictionary into its "mass-market paperback" size, the publisher printed the book in such a tiny font that one needs a magnifier to use it comfortably. I would have upped the format of this book to "trade paperback" with the resultant increase in font size. But I've decided to keep it...I already have a good magnifier!

Greatest Spanish Dictionary I've Found
I ordered this dictionary because of my Spanish teacher. In my class, we have to define words in Spanish, and I decided that getting a Spanish dictionary would help with that. I asked my teacher to give me a recommendation, and she recommended this book. One of the things I like about this is the size. It's about the size of an average paperback, so it's very easy to carry around in a backpack. As far as words go, this dictionary has had everything I have needed to look up since I got this book (which has been several hundred words with no particular rhyme or reason to them). I was able to look up definitions for nearly all of them, and the two I weren't able to find were extremely obscure words anyway.Overall, for a committed Spanish student, this book is definitely worth the money.

Very Good Dictionary
I love this dictionary because it contains multiple definitions for each word, including "figurative" definitions that often apply in literature. I primarily use the dictionary to help me understand new words and terms while reading books written in Spanish. I believe I learn more by using a dictionary of the Spanish language than by using a translating dictionary. It is interesting that it claims to be a dictionary of "Modern Spanish", but lists the letter "ch" separately. This can be a bit confusing when looking up a word containing "ch". My main complaint about the dictionary is the extremely small print. I guess this was necessary to make such a "large" dictionary fit into a small format.

Excellent
I bought this book because many of the English/Spanish books only give you the word in the opposite language. This has definitely helped me in my Spanish class because it tells me what the word is in a Spanish definition. As a Spanish speaker, this has really helped me and has helped not only pass my class, but also understand what certain Spanish words mean. I am not the best at Spanish and this has definitely helped my Spanish speaking to the max. I definitely recommend to buy this book. Also, this book arrived quickly and new as promised. I will certainly purchase from this seller once again.

Spanish-English dictionaries only help to a certain point when learning ...
Spanish-English dictionaries only help to a certain point when learning Spanish. In order to really grasp the language it is necessary to find dictionary definitions in the language we are learning. We did this method with our native language, why wouldn’t it work the same with Spanish? This dictionary even has colloquialism from just about every Spanish speaking country. Add this to your Spanish library now!

Larousse Spanish Dictionary
I own Spanish dictionary that's both Spanish-English & English-Spanish. But my Spanish has progressed to a point where it's gotten very good. So I was looking for a Spanish dictionary that's all Spanish to get more fluent in it. So I bought this one and I like it. It gives Spanish vocabulary from various Spanish speaking countries not just Spain and generalized Latin America. The definitions are not too complex and it's a fair size not too small yet not big and heavy either. I recommend this dictionary too anyone how speaks Spanish who want a dictionary that's just Spanish.

Very small letters
The size of the letter is very small. Almost impossible to read. I have ordered 4 of them for a Spanish Conversation Club, any of the attendees was able to read the letters comfortably. We returned them all.
