After using the TI-Nspire CX II graphing calculator for a while, I can safely say that it is one of the best choices for those searching for graphing calculators.The operating system is packed with features, including notes, spreadsheets, a geometry tool and more. Its key differentiator is the document system, which allows for you to share calculations and variables across different pages. Graphing functions is much faster on the Nspire than on calculators like the TI-84 Plus. However, I think that the OS is a little inefficient; it takes many steps to do basic tasks. For example, when you turn on the calculator, you need to press a button before being able to do any calculations, and you need to access a menu for trig functions instead of them having their own buttons.In terms of the device, there is a trackpad, which distinguishes it from others by allowing quicker navigation. The dedicated alphabetical keyboard at the bottom is helpful and supports standard computer keyboard shortcuts like CTRL+C and CTRL+V. This calculator is amazing! The battery life is great and lasts a few days without charging. I was a bit skeptical at first about the price but definitely worth the money. The calculator is smooth and is easy for my son to take to and from school.First, the battery. It lasts my son the whole week at school without needing to charge it, and it doesn’t take long for it to charge back up again. Second, it is very user friendly. My son uses it for his algebra and chemistry classes and it has been a must have for him to be able to get his homework done and to do complicated problems. Overall a great calculator, it works smoothly and was definitely worth the price!

Great product, will serve for rest of high school math and science as well as into college.

I’m disappointed that despite the vast, and often useless capabilities the Nspire has, it can’t do something as simple as give an answer in irrational form nor can it give an answer in radical form. For example, If you type in cos(π/4), the answer it gives you 0.707 instead of (sqrt 2)/2. This is just a simple example but imagine trying to figure out something more complicated. Defeats the purpose of a calculator. The Nspire CAS can give results as irrational and radical so I’m not sure why the non cas version cant. It’s just odd that their most advanced (and expensive) calculator can’t provide answers in their irrational or radical form especially since basic scientific calculators can.Pros: The Nspire is like a mini computer (with a touchpad mouse and everything), it can store notes and perform many other tasks efficiently.I think this is an amazing device for anyone not doing trig equations. It really can do a lot, much more than most people need tbh. But beware that most colleges don’t allow students to use the Nspire, or any graphing calculator for that matter, on exams because of the fact that it does give you the answers and it’s note storing capability. You’d only be able to use it in high school or at home for personal use, that’s what I had planned on doing. So if you’re willing to dish out the money when it’s unusable past high school, has a VERY steep learning curve and isn’t efficient for trigonometry, go for it!
