Great trash bin for separating waste - the design is simple, and the metal case well into the kitchen. It’s very spacious, which is perfect if you cook often. The lid stays open when needed, which makes it super convenient while prepping meals. The build quality feels solid, and all the compartments slide and close smoothly. It’s easy to clean and use daily. Definitely a functional and well-priced option - I’d recommend it.

It does exactly what a trash can is supposed to do. It sits in the corner and sometimes takes my trash in. It is easy to secure the plastic bags in it thanks to the rubber band. I'm loving it!

I was using a medium-sized basket in my laundry room to hold recycle items other than paper. Carrying the basket to the bins in the garage worked. The stuff in the basket didn't look neat unless it was emptied several times a day. It was good exercise.I saw this with 2 separate bins, one for paper and the other for plastic and glass. The plan was to place this between the washer and laundry room sink. We needed vertical, not horizontal, a thinner container with the pedal in front.I immediately learned a paper bag does not fit in the blue bin. The bin is deep but narrow. If used for paper, the contents will be emptied into a paper bag on garbage day or more frequently. Catalogs and magazines I stack and tie together.The black bin does hold a large laundry detergent container and several jars. The dreaded, impossible to open plastic containers used in the produce department fit, too.I unpacked the box, removed the wrapping, stood the container upright and pressed the pedal. It worked. If you want the lid to stay up, let the lid close a bit then gently push it to the full open position. The blue bin easily lifted out. The black bin did not. I called the phone number on the card that was in the box. I learned this phone number is customer service to replace parts. The young woman knew nothing about the products! We all have bad days. I caught her on hers. An unpleasant and unhelpful person.I called Amazon! Great service! Did I want to replace it, return it for a full refund? Do you want to try it for a few days and then decide?I saw the black bin was stuck below the rubber that runs along the entire top of the container to hold a plastic bag in place. The black bin was stuck!!! No tools could be used to avoid risk of damaging the container, cut the rubber or scratch the metal. You need to work around the perimeter of the black bin to slip it over the rubber band. Several sore, pinched fingers plus patience resolved the problem.I placed the large plastic bag that the container was wrapped in during shipping inside the black bin to keep it clean. If needed, washing the bins with a hose will be easy. If you don't have a hose, stand each bin in the shower. If you have long arms you can wipe them with a disinfectant wipe and reach the bottom.Is the container costly? Yes. Could I find online or in a store anything better? No. If you have a large family, this may be too small.When walking into the laundry room from the garage the appearance is greatly improved. Better functionality, too.

This trash is really convenient for our small kitchen. Because of its size we do have to take the trash out more often but I love it. It is nice having the both the trash and recycling in one space. If you have a large family or do a lot of cooking, this may not be big enough for you. The recycling side fills easily and so I am emptying it multiple times a week. There are two of us in my household and both sides fill quickly, but given the space constraints this trash can works well. The lid is super quiet. I do NOT recommend the compostable bags though, they fall apart super easy. (I did not buy those on Amazon and so can not review them on Amazon).

** UPDATE: bought in 2021, it is now 2024 and the can is still in good shape although the foot mechanism doesn’t work as great, the lid doesn’t go up as far as it used to.Love this trash can, was skeptical on paying this much for one but it’s worth it! (Also keep an eye on it as the price seems to change often from $121-$107 from what I’ve seen, wish I had waited as I paid $20 more than what it was listed as the very next day). If you’re looking for an all in one trash can that has a trash section and a recycle section this is perfect, especially after comparing to similar ones on Amazon this had the best reviews (and I see why now!). The trash portion fits a large amount of trash and the recycling portions is a tad bit small which is perfect as our ration of trash is much larger than the recyclables. Very sturdy, can inserts remove easily, and have a portion where you can secure the bags. As long as you put the bag in correctly and adjust a little you don’t see the bag sticking out when the lid is shut (big pet peeve of mine). Love the slow silent closing mechanism and also having the option to leave the lid open when needed. Highly recommend!

This waste bin looks great, is good quality and perfectly easy to use. My only difficulty with it is finding the right bags - manufacturer seems to be out everytime we look on their listing and we’re using bags that are close to fitting, but not quite right. If OEM bags were more readily available this would be the only waste bin you’d ever need. Leaving as 5 stars because the waste bin is great - needing bags is unrelated to this products quality.

At first, this was a good trash can. I originally bought it in October of 2020 and now I'm reviewing it in September 2024. By year 2, the trash can foot mechanics failed. I'm no longer able to use it which defeats the purpose. Also, the bin capacity is actually small. I found myself having to take out the trash very often. As much as every other day for a family of 3. It was nice and fit In the corner I needed it to fit in but soon it felt too small. If it was a single bin same size, it would be good but then that would also defeat the purpose of the recycling bin. I do t know. I'm upset that in such a short period of time, this expensive product failed and I ended up replacing it with the same exact trash can it was meant to replace which is a 13 gal $20ish hefty brand black can from Walmart which works perfectly... all these years later...
